UPMC Magee Womens Hospital - Labor and delivery mother and baby

The same hospital put me on a certain medicine to maintain my sobriety for the duration of my pregnancy safely. This child they questioned my sobriety.

All negative screens all negative tests between me and the newborn because of the medicine that they put me on they discriminated me so much I had to leave the program early along with his father.

They reported us to CYS which was fine cuz I wasn't doing anything wrong they made it uncomfortable for me to sit with my son after a few days the doctor even asked me to stay with him because I was the best medicine for him. My complaint was mostly with lack of education. For the very same medicine that they put me on they should explain to their nurses what to expect.

After the discharge after the baby being in the NICU for 28 days there was no help for me to get back and forth to this doctor to get this medicine.

They gave me the choice of taking him a negative 19 degree weather at 9 lbs. Or risk my sobriety and let him lose the mother that he has.

Cons:
  • Ignorance and medication they give and added stigma to you

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Be prepared just because they have a degree does not mean there educated in all areas. This will be hard disappointing and hurtful but you're stronger than that
