Face Down Solutions - This company is unmindful of the needs of older Vitrectomy patients who live alone

This company charges $189 for the first week rental of a face down chair required for recovery after vitrectomy surgery. They deliver it by UPS in a carton that is about 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. They say they told me ahead that I would have to save the box and repack this very heavy face down chair and either pay Ups to pick it up, or bring it to Ups myself. I don’t remember that, and know I would never have agreed to it. I threw out the box before surgery. Forget that I am not supposed to pick up something that heavy, and certainly can’t drive, they are justifying the $95 for pick up by saying I should just go out and get another giant box! And it’s my fault I threw the box away. Actually, since they know people are limited after surgery, or SHOULD know that, they should have told me about the $95 additional for packing and pick up when they arranged the rental. They justify also the expense of sending someone out. So my advise: Unless you have someone who can pack this for you, find a company closer to home with more upfront information about pickup.

For those who are unfamiliar with vitrectomy : this is a delicate eye surgery whereby the vitreous humor material in the eyeball is removed in order to surgically repair other parts of the eye. It requires a minimum of 4-6 weeks of recuperation time and physical activity should be carefully undertaken when necessary but precludes any heavy work, etc.... Please allow me to wish you a full and safe recovery.

Kitchen And Bath Design Center Of Bedford Hills - Contractor substituted aluminum kitchen sink for stainless steel sink in contract

Update by user Jun 18, 2018

355 Adams Street, Bedford Hills, New York.

Original review posted by user Jun 18, 2018
In 2010 I contracted with this company for a quartz kitchen countertop, for the normal thousands of dollars stone counters cost. The company offered a "free" stainless steel undermount sink with this purchase. I requested a restaurant style sink and stated I would pay extra if required. The contract signed by me and initialed by the business, and also the paid receipt, specified a stainless steel sink. The sink was beautiful at first, but then didn't hold up well at all, deteriorating considerably year after year. One day, when I had a contractor in my home, and asked about my sink, he said: "Well, it's aluminum, not stainless steel" (tapping on it to prove his point, and it was obvious). Kitchen and Bath Design had moved from the location where I purchased the countertop and sink, to a new different location in Bedford Hills. I called them and asked if they were the same business. They said they were. I then began an email correspondence regarding this issue. They said they would replace the sink if I sent them photos, and copies of the order and the receipt (which I did promptly). My contractor returned to give me an estimate of replacing the sink. He said it would be several thousand dollars, because the sink had been installed first (not dropped in), and then the stone countertop was glued to the sink lip. So the entire counter would have to be removed to replace the sink, which could also possibly damage the counter. I then got back to Kitchen and Bath Design and explained that the replacement sink would be of no use to me unless installation would also be provided. At that point they emailed me that (despite what they had told me before, and despite having offered to replace the sink), that they were a completely different company from the one I had purchased the countertop and sink from (because they had purchased the business, opened in the 1980's, from a different owner). When I placed a review outlining the above on another site, they then threatened me with their attorneys. So, while this business might have some satisfied customers, in my case there was what amounts to a very poor business practice, installing an inferior product from one that was contracted for.

Swim Outlet web-site is misleading in that they proclaim they have "price matching." I saw a Dolfin swimsuit at their web-site that I was interested in selling for over $60 at a proclaimed reduced price. I found the same swimsuit for $51 and change at the Swim 2000...

Is it time to send a message to Amazon (Kindle)

My warranty on my Kindle expired two weeks ago. My Kindle died today. I chatted on-line with customer service and explained that I am a cancer patient and really use my Kindle. And that one would not expect a Kindle to die within a few weeks after the one year warranty expires. The customer service representative, and her supervisor, from India, told me over and over "It is the rule. We are sorry for your trouble. It is the rule." I explained that I would be sharing my experience on-line, and recommending Nooks to all (on-line and in the community). And that I would also report to investors that Amazon had no interest whatsoever in customer needs. They've just gotten too too too big. The convenience and all that, and the fun I had with my Kindle, seemed worth it somehow to see all the Mom and Pop community tax-paying bookstores go out of business. But I mean even Apple has honored warranties that recently expired for me with a smile on their face. Not Amazon. They don't care about their reputation. I recommend everyone by Nooks (and then they can't sell us kindle books anymore either).

I too, am a disgruntled Kindle user. I loved it while it lasted, but 2 years later it just stopped working.

I am learning that 16-24 months is the lifetime of a kindle. I guess I was lucky. Still, considering I paid about 200.

for my model with 3G, it makes me look long and hard at the comparative bargain of buying a smart pad. Does anyone know how long they last?

I am a dissatisfied kindle customer. I bought kindle which is out of warranty. That is not a problem. The problem is that my screen is frozen on the kindle. Here is the great AMAZON DEAL AS RELATED BY THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE:

1. Amazon does not repair Kindles

2. Amazon does not recommend that we use third party batteries AND AMAZON DOES NOT SELL REPLACEMENT BATTERIES OR HAVE REPLACEMENT THEIR KINDLE.

3. AMAZON THE GREAT HAS DISCONTINUED THE PRODUCTION OF MY KINDLE, AND I HAD USED THE DEVICE FOR A FEW HOURS SINCE I BOUGHT THE KINDLE.

4. The customer service people have recommended that I pay more money to AMAZON and get a refurbished Kindle at a discount. They think that Amazon's customers are naive and will continue to buy substandard hardware and continue with it.

BUYER BEWARE. WHY DO YOU WANT TO BUY LEMONS. YOU CANNOT EVEN CHANGE A BATTERY. AMAZON IN ITS WISDOM DOES NOT HAVE THE COURTESY TO ANSWER A SIMPLE QUESTION: Is is dangerous to change a battery in a KINDLE????????????????????????

If you bought a product with a 1 year warranty, and it lasted longer than 1 year, why do you expect a full refund? If it was meant to last for more than a year, it would have come with a longer warranty. DUH!

And I feel bad for apple since you conned them into giving you free stuff that you never paid for.

My mother in law accidentally threw out the Restoration Hardware gift certificate we gave her for Christmas, with the wrapping paper. I had the original receipt, so I headed into the store for a replacement.

Come to find out they do not refund nor replace Gift certificates. Apparently they have no way to track if the pice of paper had been redeemed. Funny business practice to not have an accounting department tracking transactions.

Suppose I find some card stock and print my own, or buy a $5.00 certificate and write in a few extra digits and get my $250.00 after all. I can scam them like they scammed me!
