ATT is a horrible company!

I have had service with AT&T for years now and have had nothing but problems! Unfortunately, the area I live in has only 2 options for phone and internet service, and AT&T is the lesser of 2 evils. I'm stuck with them so switching to a different company is NOT an option! The latest fiasco I have had with them is their super glitchy website. I went on there one day last week to add a number to my blocked call list. Their website glitched as I was adding the number and somehow all of the numbers I had blocked were erased! I was livid. Their service is a real joke. It goes out all the time and this has happened in several different locations. About a month ago, my service went out, AGAIN. It was pretty late at night but I called tech support. I was on hold for over an hour and then this moron named Gerry answered my call. He was completely clueless and the first thing he said was he had to replace my modem, which I had only gotten a few months before! It wasn't the modem at all, it was their terrible service! As we were talking, my service came back up and I said to him "See? It wasn't the modem!" He then said he would cancel the order for the modem. Well, guess what?! He didn't cancel the order and the modem came, anyway! I then had to call AT&T to see how to return the damn thing to them. Then I had to hunt for a UPS store in my area. I take it to the UPS store and the guy in there wasn't too bright, either. He tossed the box on the counter and said "Is that all?" He gave me a receipt but without a tracking number! I was not happy. It took AT&T weeks to receive this package and in the meantime, I kept getting threats from them that they would charge me for that modem if they didn't receive it by a certain date. I had taken it to the UPS store WEEKS before the due date so it's not my fault that it took forever for them to receive it, when it shouldn't even have been sent to me in the first place!!!! GGRRRR! They make my blood boil and I wish I could get another company! >:(

Find A Grave - Vultures like F.A.G. user Ken Nagel should be banned!

My brother died back in 2014. A few months after his death, I went on F.A.G. to create a memorial for him, which I should have every right to do! My memorial was deleted because this vulture named Ken Nagel had already made a memorial for him and he didn't even know my brother! He's one of the many vultures on that site that are just watching the obituaries for people to drop dead so they can hurry and make a memorial! What is the point in this? Are they somehow making money off of this? I sure wouldn't doubt it. The families memorials should be first, not those of strangers! I've been a member of F.A.G. for a very long time now but am thinking of deleting my account because I'm so sick of the jackals!

Your memorial wasn't deleted it was merged with an already existing memorial. Creating 2 memorials for 1 deceased person in no way honors the dead.

All duplicates should be merged but considering how many exist that's probably not possible. Some of you people are a real trip.

You made a duplicate. You violated site policy.

Deal with it.violatesFamily members do not have exclusive rights to create memorials for relatives. Doo you have any idea how many people have found their relatives because a stranger created a memorial for their relative?

If telling them the right procedure to follow makes you get aggravated, then it's just possible that Find A Grave's policy on transferring memorials to family members is not prominently displayed enough. Or they are just not quite as quick on the uptake as yourself.

The question of whether or not a family member gets to manage their relative's memorial is not really at issue, so it's probably more useful to instruct them as to the process for getting that done. All you get from responding like this is angry slow people.

I believe you can politely REQUEST a transfer. However, the memorial creator is not obligated to make the transfer.

I've had a woman contact me to voluntarily transfer a few memorial to me. I didn't Even ask.

Unfortunately, politeness is something that does happen too often there with the hoarders. They become unhinged, devilish and have foaming fits....... Too sad !

In the OP's case, the memorial creator IS obligated to make the transfer because the deceased was the OP's brother, a required transfer. It helps to read and understand the site's policies.

Family members should always come first when it comes to making memorials for their family! If there is already a stranger made memorial and a family member decides they want to add their own, then the stranger made memorial should be removed, end of story.

If F.A.G.

had any compassion, this is the way it would be. You are an idiot!

I completely agree with you!

Creating memorials for YOUR family is not the purpose of the site. Find A Grave users should read and comprehend the site's policies and understand they are "guests".

When you are a GUEST, you abide by your hosts' wishes. That's basic common courtesy.

I've had people leave comments on my Find A Grave page THANKING me for taking the time to create a memorial and photographing the head stone. On lady wrote from England saying that she lost touch with her sister and was happy to see her headstone.

As well, this lady was disabled and unable to visit her sister in person. I have recieved a few more like this one.

Some people care offended, some are delighted. Can't please everyone.
