MY DOORDASH HORROR STORY

I've hesitated to use DoorDash all this time because of the horror stories and now I'm one of them. I should have known better, I should have just picked up my pizzas myself, I was unaware until after I placed my order that this great pizza place used DoorDash for delivery.

My first clue was when I placed the order and it said it wouldn't be delivered until 1 hr and 45 min later, whaa?? I called the store, they explained they don't have delivery and use DoorDash, I should have canceled my order right then but I gave them (DoorDash, the pizza place is fabulous) the benefit of the doubt, I figured "OK my first DoorDash experience, we'll see". Geez, it was horrible, I had a large order and when I spoke to the store about my pizza they said it was already almost ready but according to the computer it wouldn't be picked up for an hour, he gladly offered to remake all the pizza so it would be hot when I received it, I said "let me call DoorDash and I'll call u back". It took awhile to get a live person, I explained the situation and was put on hold for awhile, then told they can't get a hold of my "dasher", I asked if they could find another available one and she said the "system" wasn't letting them request another delivery person, that I would have to wait and she would request the pizzas be remade fresh.

I called the store back, they never heard from DoorDash and again were kind enough to remake my pizzas, having to throw out the first ones. I received a text saying "Jason" was heading to my door but no one was outside. 8 minutes later he arrived carrying two small sacks and said "her you go", I said "where's the pizzas?" He said "you didn't order any pizza, this is a $6.35 order", I said " nooo, this is a $70.00 order with 2 pizzas and 2 breadsticks, salad, 2 2liters, and 2 brownies", he said I just delivered that order two streets over to 'Ryan P.' Youre' not Ryan P?" I said I have no idea who Ryan P. is and that was my order" he then then said he could go back over there and get my pizzas, are you freaking kidding me????

I said " you really expect me to take pizzas you left at another house?" He said "they just opened the box, they didn't touch them, they don't want them", at this point I'm in complete awe that this guy actually thinks someone, during covid no less (and no he wasn't wearing a mask at all) would actually eat pizza after it's been in someone else's house, seriously??? He was actually trying to leave to get the pizzas back and I insisted he stay on the porch while I called the store about this order and the whole time he kept trying to place blame on the people at the store, I was trying to speak and he kept interrupting me and talking over me, saying "she" told me the pizzas were for Ryan P while at the same time she told me she handed him the pizzas and told him they were for my name and even asked him if he had any other hot food orders to pick up and he said no, apparently 'Ryan P's' pizza was still at the store waiting. All this delivery guy had to do was look at the address with this large order on his phone, it's an incredibly simple easy to find house, no apt numbers, well-lit area, he showed me NOTHING saying those $6.35 items were to go my house, nothing. The store again offered to make my pizzas a third time, I thanked them, they guy was still trying to convince me to take the pizzas he left at 'Ryan P.'s' house, omg.

I called DoorDash, pointless, apparently since I paid thru the pizza store's site I have to request a refund (no way was I giving this guy a tip) from them, thanks DoorDash. Now the pizza store, which made AMAZING pizza btw (and had to throw out 4 perfectly good pizzas and breadsticks because of DoorDash) , will have to take the financial hit for DoorDash having an incompetent delivery driver, thus my horrid experience with DoorDash, just one of many. I really don't understand when you only have two orders, which he said he did, how can u possibly get a $6 order confused with a $70 order? And here's the kicker, what he did bring me in those two sacks were part of my original order, brownies and soda, what was the $6.35 order?

There was none. There wouldn't be so many stories like mine if DoorDash actually gave a crap about their customers.

UPDATE: I finally did receive my full correct order, 3 hrs after putting the order in, but still need to resolve issue of refund of delivery charge and tip, at least this driver did make an effort to finish the delivery w/the correct items. I'm grateful to have finally received my order but DoorDash customer service is completely incompetent , hence all the problematic issues.
