Discount Tire - Frustration due to lack of service

I have been a customer since shortly after they opened in Cleveland, Tn., having bought several sets of tires for my 3 vehicles, as well as for my grands. First, they have always been excellent on tire balancing, the best in the business: prices are very competitive, and I have always received prompt courteous service, until now! I went in about a week ago to have the tires rotated and balanced on my wife's car. After sitting there for over an hour after being "checked in" and my car not having been put on a rack, I asked someone who appeared to be the manager, if there was a problem , and he said that it would be ready by a time that was still some hour and 15 minutes later. So I just left. No comment from anyone about their slow service or anything. Well then, I decided to go back again today if there were not too many customers. When I got there, and was "checked in", it was 10:53. There were only 3 cars waiting in the lot, and 2 on the racks. I sat there for an hour, and my car still had not been taken back. Up until these last 2 occasions, my wait was seldom if ever more than 20 - 30 minutes. I again approached who I think is the manager, told him I had been waiting an hour and wondered what was the problem. He said I should have been told it would be 2 hours. No apology for not having been told. TRAIN YOUR PEOPLE! I will say that they then did respond and got me out in what I consider a reasonable time later. While I was sitting there, I saw several people who came in after me, with personnel working to sell them tires. I know that probably their profit is in selling, but if they continue to worsen in service after the sale; I, for one, will be looking for someone who is more customer service oriented. ALSO, while I was sitting there, 2 other people complained about the slowness of service. The point is .... 1. Service time sucks lately! 2. Maybe it is the new manager and / or crew and / or training, or lack of personnel, but whatever the cause, you will lose if it continues to deteriorate. JIM ROLLINS 423 314 **** JWROLLSR@***.COM
