Jostens - Customer service rep made my daughter cry over a free logo backpack

I ordered my daughter a pendent necklace as a surprise for her senior year. As a junior, she brought home paperwork for jewelry and was so excited. I had to then tell her, I had already picked something for her($700.00). If they ordered through school she was to get a free class year ring and a backpack with her name on it. She was super bummed that I messed that up for her... I couldn't afford to spend that kind of money a second time. I sent all the paperwork with her to provide their customer service rep at the school, for her to be able to still get the items, after I had emailed. The item had shipped to our home due to covid not the school but the paperwork said it was to be shipped to the rep for delivery. Anyway she's honor roll and wanted that backpack more than anything else. He told her she couldn't have it, even with her paperwork and made her cry at school in front of other students. I'm so mad! In the last two years I've spent about $1500 through this company and will have to spend more with upcoming graduation (s). I'm so upset that the company would choose to be so petty. I would have bought the backpack, knowing how bad my daughter wanted it. No option. No email back. No call back. And definitely no backpack for a kid that wanted it so badly. I wouldn't recommend this company to others after and I'm shocked that a person could be so awful to a student over something so small. Wow! I would like the free backpack for Cascade high school with my daughter's name on it, like she asked for and thought she'd get.
