Colonial Van Lines - The lies.

Colonial started out as a seemingly responsible operation. Good contact, reasonably priced.

But when it came time for the actual move, that is when the lies begin. We were notified twice the week before our move everything was a go for the dates we had. The second time was two days before the pickup, everything was still a go. The day of pickup we had to call the guy, his name was Oliver to find out what was going on.

He gave the talkthey may need more time, no definite date, could be another weekyes, they could still turn up and he admitted he wouldnt know. He knew from previous talks we had to be out of our house in two days. We called the representative who signed us on, never received a call back. I finally contacted Donna in Resolutions.

She talked to the dispatcher and he said they had no idea when we would have a truck. People just werent showing up for work. She suggested we may want to seek alternatives! With two days to get out of our house, Colonial cost us a lot of money.

If they had been honest, up front, and said the trucks were not showing up, we would have known that we should have a back up plan. We would never use them again, and truthfully, we would figure out something different than using any supposedly professional moving company.

I have to give a star to post this review. I will give this star to Donna since she was the only honest person we spoke with.

Pros:
  • Started off being extremely helpful
Cons:
  • Not providing a customer service rep
  • Lack of communication
  • Very poor customer service

Preferred solution: I think they owe us compensation for what we went through, the extra cost for finding an alternative mover since it turned out to be a last minute move because of them!

User's recommendation: Stay away!
