Hewlett Packard - Half Empty Ink Cartridge

I purchased an ink cartridge from Office Max today. I also purchased two reams of paper.

We bought the 60XL Black to print out an ebook. We chose the XL because it stated it would print 600 pages as opposed to the regular 60 that would print only 200. We came home, installed the new ink cartridge, and proceeded to print the book (double spaced, normal font). Since we had no paper prior to purchasing the new ream, I can clearly state that I used not quite half the ream of paper.

That would be a maximum of 250 pages. At that point, the ink ran dry! How can a cartridge that states it will print 600 pages only print at most 250 pages? These are not pictures or dense text.

The pages are only a normal font double spaced. So, where are my missing 350 pages of ink?

Either I have a bad cartridge, or you are misrepresenting your product.

I would like to hear how you plan to resolve this issue. I spent over $60 on a cartridge and I'm empty before finishing printing my ebook.

I look forward to hearing how you'll resolve this issue. I'd hate to think you filled this at a lower volume than you advertise.

I'm trusting it's just a fluke. But I'd like ink to complete my ebook and have ink left over (since I purchased 600 pages of print).

Please resolve asap.

Thank you
