At least they did not expect you to drop everything you are doing to return their forgotten items and demand that you get fired for not complying. I think it is your reading comprehension that is the issue. They never said that the employee told them to stay out. Just that the customer should stay out of the restaurant by their own decision. I do agree with you that people should not be "camping out" at Subway.

With all being said since when is 30 minutes "camping out". Food businesses have a right to limit the amount of time a customer sits at their tables, but most of them do not follow the rules. The rule is usually for those that spend over an hour there who are basically finished their food and just using the wifi. I do not know the whole story, but unless in this situation they should use common sense. For example if there are no other seats, and the customer has finished their food, they should be asked to leave for other customers. But if they are making themselves look innocent, and forgot to mention that the restaurant was busy and they needed the table for other tables and he was long done eating then he should be asked to leave. But we do not know the situation. If he is innocent they should use common sense. If not, he should use common sense and leave.

If you spent a night, or any nights in the room, you should pay for that. If you did not spend any nights there then you should get a full refund. But from the way you worded this makes it seem like you spent some nights in the wrong, but not the whole stay. If this is the case why did you not notice the roaches before? Something sounds fishy here.
