Kenmore - Compressor on refrigerator failed

We have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator, model #795-*****-***, serial # 705TREWOK724. On 8/22 the ice maker stopped working.

This fridge was purchased on 7/28/21 so I thought it was fairly young to have issues. I called the Kenmore repair line and they didn't have an appointment for over 2 weeks. I called a local man and he came on 8/23 and we found that the fridge was not cooling at all. He diagnosed a bad compressor and told us that Kenmore used the LG compressors and that they were prone to die early.

I found that, indeed, there was a class action lawsuit against LG for just this reason!

We have lost a lot of fresh and frozen food at this point and have been having to live out of a camping cooler for our refrigeration needs. In addition, it has been really HOT here and we'd like to have some cool drinks/food.

I feel that the compressor should be replaced at NO CHARGE to us since it is known that the LG compressors are not good and a barely 4 year old refrigerator should NOT have to have any major repairs or be replaced. The man I spoke to when making an appointment (still 2 weeks off, mind you; the LG settlement had required repairs within 7 days--too bad that didn't extend to Kenmore!) claimed that it would be, but I would like to get that in writing. I also saw that people are trying to get a class action lawsuit against Kenmore because of refrigerators dying because of the compressor issue and having difficulty getting them repaired or replaced.

I would really appreciate a response to this!

Your phone line only allows you to try to make or change an appointment (and I believe that the people manning the phone lines may not even be in the US) and no one can tell me if the compressor will be replaced at no charge (which it certainly should be). I have always had a good opinion of Kenmore products, but this is making me doubt the brand.
