Udis - Product has shrunk or I have a faulty loaf!
I purchased both the Udis cinnamon loaf and ‘new’ soft white sandwich loaf and despite both saying they weighed 340g, the white loaf was noticeably smaller and lighter than the cinnamon loaf as well as the ‘old white loaf’. .So I counted the slices in both the cinnamon loaf I had purchased, as well as counting the number of slices in the ‘old white loaf packet’ (since I had one in my freezer) and there were 3 more slices per loaf compared to the ‘new loaf’. I’m perplexed since the weight is supposedly the same. I’m paying the same price CAD $6.99 plus taxes but now only getting 12 slices of bread, compared to 15 in the previous white loaf and 15 slices in the cinnamon loaf. With only 12 slices, this works out to be 60 cents per slice and the slices are fairly small and thinly sliced. They appear to be slightly thinner sliced but thus may not be the case. However the crusts are burning which they haven’t before so I ended up losing the crusts as well having to cut them off. I hope you can offer an explanation and whether the loaf I bought was faulty with not enough slices and whether the recipe has changed or whether the slices are thinner. I have taken photos of the two loaves (white and cinnamon) side by side which shows the size variation still in the packaging. I’m very disappointed as my 6 year old son has cealiac disease and loves the Udis bread. I will have to buy a different brand in future if I find that all the ‘new’ soft white breads loaves have shrunk in size. Thanks, Sophie
