Verizon Wireless - Wanted to speak with customer service about paid bill.

What type of company tells their customers that in order to talk about their bill, you need to make a payment first. Even if it's clear that your payment has been made. What type of company diverts you to the automated system and refuses to allow you access to a live customer service provider. My son was in the hospital and I really needed to use my phone and could not because Verizon continued to divert me only to the automated system and refused to let me speak to customer serviceI will never forgive Verizon for making me stress over a payment that has been paid. Preferred solution
Apologize and fix my service and take off late fees for lines as they are paid. Allow me to end contract after many years of service from Verizon as your customer service relation have gone down hill.
