Bob Evans Restaurants - Dissatisfied customer

Good Afternoon All:

For about 40 years the Wife and I have been loyal Bob Evans customers. We have eaten at Bob Evans restaurant all over the East Coast and the Midwest.

Over the years we have been generally pleased with Bob Evans.

However, in recent years, the restaurant chain has seemingly experienced a substantial reduction in food quality and availability.

It seems that many of the items that we enjoyed over the years no longer are available.

The open face (Knife and Fork) sandwiches are a prime example. Open face sandwiches (Beef and Turkey) were once a staple of the American Restaurant chains. No more.

The Turkey and Dressing dinner leaves much to the imagination. The turkey seemingly has been cut from a cold cut roll.

The gravy has devolved into a peppery sauce. And the cranberry is not even real cranberry.

Today, I ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup. Expecting to find the normal broad noodles in a nice light colored sauce I instead found small noodles, an abundance of carrots, and a sauce or juice that was dark compared to the previous standard. The taste was not so good.

Even the dinner rolls have recently devolved into a lower quality.

Once fresh, soft, fluffy and delicious, they are no smaller, not so soft, no fluffiness (seemingly very heavy) and not so good

Many times, of late, items were not available from the menu due to "the truck did not arrive" or "we ran out". Both of which indicate poor supply ordering.

What is going on at Bob Evans? I fear that the current rate of decline the Chain may not survive to much longer into the future.

In regards to staffing, the serving staff generally proves to very good at what they do. They are pleasant and strive to make the experience as good as possible.

The Management Staff, however, is another matter.

Our local store has experienced wholesale Management changes at least four times in the past couple of years.

Well, enough for now. Please do not read this letter as coming from someone who chronically complains.

It has been many years since I last posted any type of review or composed any type of letter such as this.

We just want the Bob Evans of old back.

Thank you for your time and attention,

"years no longer are available' Yeah that's called CHANGE. They're getting ready to put people who've been eating someplace for 40 years out to pasture and make room for the next wave who actually have 40 years left. Sorry, you just don't matter...
