CVS Pharmacy - Beware of using Humana's OTC card at CVS: No reimbursements

Beware of using Humana's (OTC) card with CVS.

I bought one pair of Futuro compression stockings for a total of $45.47 at CVS #3570 using my Humana OTC benefit card. I found the product defective: stitching had unraveled in one of the stockings.

A quick check found a full product guarantee was highly legible on the cover of the box. I proceeded to return the merchandise to the store. I was advised that CVS does not refund $ for items purchased with OTC cards, even if the item is still in a sealed box and is accompanied with the original purchase receipt (!).

After a lengthy debate, the clerk, advised that the only way to get any kind of resolution to my "problem" was to (wink) "appear" to be returning the item sans original receipt, as If lost. Anyhow, the catch is that by doing this I would be penalized if the item had been on sale during the past 60 days: I would get the lesser amount.

Needless to say I ended up receiving a refund of only $34.10--I lost 25% on the transaction because of this so-called policy of CVS, which I was obviously not aware of.

Needless to say also, I'm never stepping in one of CVS's overpriced stores for as long as I live.
