PNC Bank - They charge you overdrafts for their mistakes and tell you their is nothing wrong!!!

For the last 3 months my wife and I have been fighting with PNC. In Aug. we closed 2 accounts, my personal account and our joint account. We have been a long time customer with this bank and had 3 accounts with them. We changed my wife's personal account into a joint account due to the bank started to charge the previous joint account a fee each month. When we started the account is was set up as a free account. After closing the accounts I went to my employer to let them know to change my deposit to go to the new joint account and filed the paperwork. The following week my deposit was sent to the closed account and I was told by the bank rep that their policies are that the deposit would be sent back to my employer. But this was not the case. It was moved to the joint saving account that stayed open even after having the account closed. After going back into the bank branch on several occasions to fight to get the account closed they kept telling us that their was a problem closing the account not they could not close the account due to it having money in it. On the web portal it showed a 0 dollar balance. But yet they could not close the account. Then my employer had the payroll company do a reverse inquiry to find out where the deposit went to because they did not get it back and found it was moved to the joint account. At that time my employer told me to give the money back or I would not have a job and called me a thief. So I took off work and drove down to the bank branch and had them give me the money in cash to give to my employer. With everything that happened with the deposit I was told by the bank manager if I got a letter from my employer stating what happened they would refund the money after getting it they said they would not except it due to how it was worded. Since then they have kept charging me over draft fees on top of over draft fees. So far it has come to 500.00 dollars in over draft fees. The last rep I spoke to stated they found no fault in the bank and will not refund the money they have stole from me. My wife has done some research on this and we are not the only people they have done this to. So now we will be looking for a new bank to do business with. And will be looking in to getting an attorney.

PNC customers should know that the law firm of Migliaccio & Rathod currently has an open investigation into excessive overdraft fees charged by banks, PNC included. If you type "Migliaccio and Rathod overdraft" into Google, you should find their website as one of the first links.
