My hot water heater has a water leak. It is corroding our insulated pipes and it's starting to drip on to the part where the pilot light is. We called the company to request service and the voice "greeter", the voice you listen to while they tell you what option to push, said that if there was a problem with our hot water heater, we should use the off switch and turn it off. We did this Wednesday, the 23rd of August. We ended up having to put a service request through online because we waited over an hour and still talked to nobody. We were told one of American Home Shield's vendors would be contacting us within 24 hours. Friday afternoon comes, we are still without hot water and nobody has called. We decided to turn the hot water heater back on because we all needed to use hot water for something. This morning, Monday, August 28th, we called the plumber that AHS gave us the number to. He told my husband that he doesn't service our area because we live too far out and he said he informed AHS this Thursdays evening. We have yet to receive a call. I am in the process of trying to talk to someone right now from AHS. So far, I've been on hold for 50 minutes and I was told my wait time would be 15-30 minutes. I've already paid their $75 service fee. My family is growing desperate. We need hot water, but we also think it is a huge risk to keep the heater on. We should be staying at a hotel until this is fixed, but I doubt very much that AHS cares about our comfort or the need to see this fixed immediately.
