National Moving and Storage - Dishonesty, change in price, deceiving

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If I could I would give this company a zero. The experience started out good.

Debbie and Beatrice from Sales kept calling me and finally I was ready to make my booking. They were very pleasant but they deceived me. We had 2 moves, one from FL to TX and one from FL to GA. I gave a description of everything, made some additions and deletions and got a final price.

We thought it was a great price. UNTIL the changes happened. SO yesterday Josh the lead mover called me when he arrived at the house in Florida. He advised that there might a "worse case scenario" in the prices for the two moves.

WHAT? I thought the price was already determined. Well he started talking square footage and things that need to go this way and that way. So the move that was supposed to go to TX was supposed to be $1697.81.

Now Josh is telling me that move is now $2405.00,. That is an additional $707.19. WHAT? Now the move to GA was $4443.00 and now Josh is telling me it is going to cost $5090.00.

That is an addtional $647.00 . WHAT???

SO Josh was telling me about square footage and the way things fit in the truck and yada yada yada. He was very pleasant but I wasn't happy. THe price is the price.

And estimate can be off a little but over $2000.00 That is RIDICULOUS!

SO today I get an email from the dispatcher. The prices have changed again. SO I try and call Beatrice but cannot speak to her because her job is done and now she cant see my file so I speak with Erica who is in customer service. Well she wasn't able to help me and so she transferred me to the dispatcher, Sherry.

She went over both moves with me. I explained to her that Josh told me what the rate was. I have it written down in front of me. She said I don't have that price.

Well I said I do and that is what I was told. She said let me call Josh. She talked to Josh and she said that he said blah blah blah. Well you see where this is going.

I am very careful to write down prices of what I am told.

So now the TX price is 841.56 another almost $150.00 and the GA move is now over $1000.00 more. WHAT? How can you do business like this. I told her I had very few pieces and I could have rented a Uhaul and it would have cost me $1600.00 FLAT!!

Why would I pay double? Nearly double the price I was quoted.

Then she asked me if I lived in the house in FLorida?

What does that have to do with anything?

We went back and forth and she said she would have a supervisor call me. I doubt it!

RE: AVIS Car Rental ruined out trip

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This is the 3rd year in a row we rented a 12 passenger van from Avis in Bozeman Montana, and were completely satisfied until this point. There were 12 of us. Since so many of us are involved my friends sent a letter to Avis Customer Service on behalf of all of us. Below is an excerpt from the letter : When I arrived to pick up my Van, I was told that the Van did not arrive. They were going to give us two vehicles in lieu of one Van for 12 people. This was totally unacceptable One of the people was also told that the Van was never sent by corporate. We had to call someone we knew to bring a third car to load the baggage, as the baggage would not fit in the vehicles. We have rented a van for the past two years and have had no issues. This time it was a real mess. Please contact us immediately regarding this issue. Avis Response: RE: Wrong size vehicle Avis Case: 2024**** Reservation: 2079****US2 Rental Agreement: U63888**** Dear Ronald Keilbart, Thank you for contacting Avis Customer Service regarding the vehicle received at time of your rental check out. We apologize that a vehicle in your reserved car class was not available when you arrived at our rental location. We understand that this occurred at BZN on 6/12/17and your rental agreement number was U63888****. We strive to keep adequate inventory levels at all of our Avis locations, but we obviously fell short in meeting your rental needs and for this we deeply apologize. Your concerns have been documented in Case umber 2024****. We've also emailed you a $50.00 coupon off a future rental. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? 50.00? For a future rental? It cost us more than that in gas for the second car that we did not want. You ruined our trip that we planned for a year. You ruined our experience and the way it played out because we were not together. We had to drive 2 separate cars, pay for gas on two separate cars. We were NOT all together. We didn't have enough room for the bags. It was ridiculous. We had to get another vehicle for the bags to and from the airport. How can YOU , AVIS, rent a van for 12 and NOT have it available????? We understand from Bozeman airport that we were not the only ones that got screwed! There were 5 or 6 groups that rented these 12 pax vans, and Corporate ( as it was explained to us), only sent 1. You should refund the entire rental! YOU, AVIS, did not hold up your end of the agreement. That is just bad business!!!!

Vacations To Go - Did not and would not honor advertised special
We booked 2 cabins with Vacations to Go. We booked both oceanview cabin for 1659.00 each plus tax/port charges. It was a 15 night on March 18, 2018 on Celebrity Infinity. We picked our perks and got confirmation numbers and then received a message that they would not honor it. Spoke with Christine in cusomter and a supervisor named Jenny. They would not honor it. Said they couldn't. Offered 200.00 room credit and went up to 400.00. The drink package value alone is 825.00 PP and the gratuities added up to 202.50 Per Person. That is over 1000.00 in benefits that they would NOT HONOR! I have booked with them before and never had an issue. I have since booked two cruises with another company since I do not trust them. NOT HONORABLE!

This is the biggest joke of response that I have ever heard....'sorry you did not find Christine's offer satisfactory'? If you bought a car that you paid for, would you like the dealership to call back and say you need to pay more 'after the sale is complete' or we will repo it?

There aren't very many reviews on this site, but I can not believe that people are still using this company with all the 'Bait and Switch' tactic complaints they have on many others. We had the exact same thing happen, not on as grand a scale, but booked 3 rooms at an unbelievable rate and then were called 16 days after it was booked to say they can not honor the price. They blamed it on the cruiseline....DO NOT USE!!!!

Go direct through the cruise lines. At least you'll get some straight answers and better customer service!

I totally agree. I just booked another cruise for my parents with a different company.

Car dealerships do that all the time when they cannot honor the financing.

Thank you for writing, Heidi. We apologize for the confusion while you were planning your trip.

Once we realized there was a discrepancy with the rate and promotion, we contacted you immediately to discuss your options before charging your credit card. We regret that you didn’t find Christine’s offer, which included a deeply discounted rate and additional onboard credit, satisfactory.

Christine is planning to reach out to you to discuss this matter further. We look forward to answering any questions you may have.
