Unicel unauthorized autopay removal
I found out just today that I had a Unicel bill 60 days past due. The only notice I received for this bill came two days ago. I called last month and the woman I talked to said that there was nothing due on my account, so I didn't need to make a payment. I was under the impression that I was signed up for autopay, which I have been for at least the past eight months. I did not consent to being removed from autopay before my service was terminated, I was taken off of autopay prior to when a payment should have been made on my account. Unicel's autopay service is pretty horrible, it once charged my credit card twice for one month's bill. The most frustrating part to me, besides the lack of cordial customer service, is that I paid my bill on time for the length of my contract. Why pull the "this is going to collections" card on a customer who was loyal and paying on time for two years? This company's handling of this issue has left a very bad taste in my mouth.
