Family Dollar - Customer complaint/ upset customer

I went into my first family dollar on today located on perimeter rd in Valdosta, Ga. The associate told me I had to return to the family dollar on ashley because I had already did a return on some items.

I took my merchandise back and told my kids we will go to the ashley street location do my return and spend my money. Get to the ashley st store was being wait on by Jayla Watson. She said that she could not do anymore returns cause they were looking at her number for returns. She said that alot of people are going to be upset cause they can not return lights and Christmas trees.

She ask had it been up and I said no, she stated that it was open now. I inform her that the packing on the merchandise was not good and that is why it was open. Showed her the example of how it keep coming open. I told her that if that was going to be the policy that they need to post it or let customer know.

Jayla said that she don't have to let anyone know nothing. I told her that her district need to post it for the customers. She stated that no they don't have to post anything. I told her that I have work in retail for over 20 years and that you are to let the customers know this.

I did tell the associate that was going to give me my money back because no one told me that and it was not posted anywhere. I refuse to fill the paper out because i had become upset with the treatment i had received. My daughter became upset because of the way she was talking to me and the fact that after she finally did the return she takes the merchandise put it in a bag and throw it down behind the counter. She continues to exchange words with my daughter and I remove my daughter from the store.

I dont want her to lose her job, but she does need more training. This is not how you treat customers. I shop too much with this store to be treated this way. I would not to hear back from the store manager of this store.

I dont need to know what is going to be done to her, but I need to know that she will be talk to and have more training. She said that she was the manager of this store and if she is I will not spend me money or allow my family and friends to spend their money at the location. I had a talk also with my child about her behavior in the store also. Please do not let this complaint go unanswered.

Preferred solution: More training for the young lady. Posting of return policy

First of all your daughter has no right talking rudely to an adult At least you corrected her. But you do know that she gets this rude behavior from watching you right?

You are her rule model and a poor one at that. Second I hope when you worked in customer service you had customers just like you. Also you cannot force your family and friends to not spend money there. How can you not allow them.

Are you going to physically drag them out of the store if they shop there?

It is their money and they can spend it anywhere they want. You got mouthy and rude with her, your daughter witnessing your rude behavior copied you.

You are correct, the daughter obviously learned her rude behavior from the parents.
