October 9, 2020

Several months ago we had our home with water damage and we decided to renovate and improved everything at our house. We decided to have new carpets in the bedrooms so we went to our trusted local Home Depot located in Feather River Dr.

Stockton, ca. There we were greeted by Shawn Floor Specialist who always has been so helpful. Anyway, we purchased all the carpet and padding there and made arrangements to have it install by The HOME DEPOT who subcontracted ROMANOFF Renovations.

Also, about a month ago we consulted several other flooring companies and obtained several quotes from them. Even though all of them were considerable less than HOME DEPOT we decided that we wanted to pay and "TRUST" the HOME DEPOT for the purchase and tile installation who subcontracted again ROMANOFF RENOVATIONS again to do it.

Anyway, we paid much more so we can have THE HOME DEPOT install everything in our home because we trusted them and we didn't want to have any headaches, stress, frustrations, delays and over all on schedule, since we were staying at a hotel and we wanted to have the house ready by the time the project was done.

meanwhile we went to the house almost every night including weekends to paint and renovate everything inside. So we didn't know how big of a job that was....we painted everything change door locks, ceiling fans, new blinds etc.

Below is a summary of physical, material and mental distress damages that my family and I incurred since we signed a contract H1022-18**** with the Home Depot on date 08/24/2020 at their Feather River Store. Countless times we went to the store and reported to their Floor Specialist and the Store Supervisor about everything that was going wrong in our home and all of the consequences that came down because of the negligence and incompetence of the Subcontractors Romanoff Renovations. The project was going so bad, that at one point we were locked out of our own home for a whole week with a tape place on the door locks with the writings "Do not enter".

One day while I was in the garage, the tile setters left the house for the day leaving the front door wide open! anyone could have entered and steal something or worse yet harm me or a member of my family. I have become physically ill, I have had a stomachache for weeks now, and continue to have nightmares and sleepless nights. It is impossible to describe all those horrible times my family and I had to endure.

I am so frustrated and stressed out that after going through this ordeal, my house is still a nightmare having to now undo the horrendous job done by the workers from ROMANOFF twice in a row, I need to find a contractor responsible and professional to do the job right – as HOME DEPOT claims to do - and endure who knows how much longer dust and construction work inside my home. My house interior was recently freshly painted including doors, now they need to be repainted because of fingerprints, scratches, and dirt areas everywhere. My just painted doors have scratches and need to be repainted as well. These contractors had the audacity to use my bathroom and leave it dirty.

In addition, they took my patio sliding door off its tracks and it doesn’t close properly anymore.

The closet doors in the guest room are not secured and the laundry folding doors are still off the hinges sitting on the side with visible scratches and marks. I had a brand new refrigerator delivered a couple weeks ago, and even though I had covered it, also got splashed all over with mixing materials.

I want to have my refund in full in the amount of $5,267.16 check/cash and I am adding the following estimate for damages:

Remove off-level tile: $500

Paint the house paint/labor: $800

Repair patio sliding door $200

Hanging laundry doors: $100

General cleaning: $140

Storage while fixing: $100

Air mattress and equipment (Authorized purchase by Store Manager) $105

Cleaning new refrigerator: $50

Emotional stress and mental distress related illnesses, time loss of work, countless sleepless nights, and reoccurring nightmares, so many frustrations, and ongoing medical issues $4,000.

I really think that this is way short from what it should be.

Grand total: $12,262.16 I truly hope you find these costs reasonable and that we can reach an amicable resolution of this matter created by your contractors under your watch.
