The Neat Company - NEAT SCANNER...the worst customer service & product

I first purchased their small scanner and about a year ago upgraded to their desktop scanner. Scanning double sided and or multipage documents often takes many tries before the scanner will actually accept them as the scanner software/program shuts down over and over again. It often takes up to three or four tries before the scanner will accept such documents. More time is wasted getting the scanner to accept scans then getting your desk cleaned up from paper clutter. One day the integrity of the documents I scanned diminished, I learned that cleaning and calibrating the scanner with the calibration paper that was included on purchase fixes this. Except lately I keep getting an error message when trying to calibrate. Customer Service is a whole other story....the phone number for customer service on their website eludes to the fact that one only qualifies to actually speak to a life person when paid extra for. After many attempts trying to get someone on the line I had no other choice and paid for their Premium Support ($119/year). What is most unbelievable is that I still cannot get anyone on the phone, instead, I keep getting the same merry-go-round automated message as I did before I paid for the Premium Support. THIS IS THE WORST SCANNER AND SUPPORT (there is none) OUT THERE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS SCHMUTZ.
