My New 2016 Jayco Seneca review

I have just purchased a jayco 2016 Seneca and have been having ok luck, knock on wood! I cannot say it's been perfect. There were a few issues but Jayco has jumped all over it.

On our fist road trip, note camper was only 1 week old, at the first toll booth I stopped at; one of the locked compartment doors was swinging in the wind slamming against the tollbooth, scratching and denting the door. Then 2 nights later I opened the sides and right in the middle of the floor was a nut (from a bolt) dug into the floor ripping the one piece vinyl flooring, this was, to say the least, Very Disappointing.

We were heading to Oklahoma to have custom work done to the Seneca so I contracted my dealer and they contacted Jayco. The Jayco warranty rep had a local Tulsa dealership make repairs to the floor and adjusted, I hope all compartment doors, the paint repairs will happen when I bring it back home. I haven't gotten it back yet but will definitely follow up with another comment after the trip home.

I will say I was happy that Jayco took immediate responsibility and worked at getting the unit repaired, again I haven't seen the repairs yet but I was very shocked and disappointed that this even happened. Let's all admit these campers are all cheaply built, the factory mass produce them and leave *** like nuts n bolts lying around, QC is not all the Mobil home industries strong point!

Unless you spend 2 n a half times the money for an earthroamer custom type vehicle this is what you get. I don't agree or except it but I do somewhat expect it, but for $200k it shouldn't happen.

I am hoping that nothing else goes wrong and am looking forward to years of fun camping with the family.

It's very disappointing to hear about these issues John Hufham is having and terrible follow up from both dealer and Jayco. I will tell you the very first night we slept in the Seneca, it was at Cabelas in Hamburg Pennsylvania, I woke up to pounding rain, thank god no leaks. I have been speaking to the warranty rep a lot n will mention this review I read.

Good luck to all us Campers/RVers.

i have just purchased a 2016 and have never seen so many problems. first switch that transfers power from generator to coach burned up at the dealers lot when i was picking it up.

then the digital door lock went out while they were getting it ready. both mudflaps tore off on the way home the slide out leaks. and a piece of the wood on the column that they forgot to cut off, tore *** in the lino. then it rained and the slide out leaks.

whats next.

i have only owned it for less than a week.

My wife and I would like to purchase an rv. The first three dealers we went to, did nothing but knock other products!

One salesman even knocked products they sold!! I'm not sure if I will buy one now.

They all seem to be like the rest of American products, junk!

We are also looking at purchasing a Jayco Seneca. Can you tell me what size motor you have and torque? Do you have any problems in the mountains?
