arco self storage tried to rip me off by auctioning my unit with little to none notification. they said that they sent me notifications thru the mail,but never notified me thru email even tho i had actually contacted them by email. i had recently emailed them explaining that i had moved out o f town to a very remote area and was unable to make it to their office in person. they responded to tell me that i had to come in person but never once told me about my outstanding bill. or that my unit was going to go up for auction. when i was able to pay my bill in person that is when they told me that i had less than 24 hours to pay my bill in full or i would lose it. i immediately went and paid and when i looked at my bill this company charged me 20 bucks for something called a pre lien notice. Thats funny because i never recieved the notice. and to top it off my bill is due on every 28th of the month. so tell me why i was charged on jan 7 for a late fee? i was charged on 12/08 and 12/30 for a late fee. how can i be charged twice for a late fee in one month and charged another late fee in the beginning of a month im not even late for? they also charged me an nsf fee of 20 dollars. i have never paid with a credit card or by any other means other than cash. i was wrongly charged at least 55 dollars over. plus when i went in to check everything out my things had definetly been moved around. are they allowed to go thru your things before the unit is auctioned? if it weren't for the extremely friendly staff i would be raising ***. too bad they work for crooks...
