Google forces 2 step verification

Cannot access my old email due to Google forcing me to go through 2 step verification that I never set up. 2 step verification makes it extremely hard for anyone who can no longer access their old phones.

Instead of staying true to their customers they force you to go through with 2 step even if you never set it up. Boycott 2 step verification

Preferred solution: I would like to access my old email without being forced to go through 2 step verification
