This attorney practices in Atlanta, Georgia- be wary!

Original review May 24, 2015
This attorney showed a most unethical way of giving advice in order to make the most money out of my daughter. We had to end up paying this guy in the end because fees were so over the top. Gave her the worst advice which not only made her look bad to a huge in another state- but also forced her to employ two lawyers at one time and a private investigator (which she never needed in the first place and only caused a ton more trouble for her in the end!). This attorney added on other services which were unnecessary and ended up making her look bad - and of course for which he billed for. All in all, we wish we could have done this over again- WITHOUT THIS GUY!

Not sure who Mr. McNutt is- but this case was several years ago and your poor client most certainly did not win.

Perhaps your new client doesn't realize that you have a pretty hot temper and you tend to *** off judges- yes you do have that reputation.

I'm sure this Mr. McNutt would just love to know that you have slandered him in this public post and your client would just love to know that you have shared too much information about her and her case. Isn't it a rule that attorneys must also be conscientious of Rule 1.6, to protect a client’s confidences unless in certain instances:

(b) A lawyer may reveal information relating to the representation of a client to the extent the lawyer reasonably believes necessary:

(5) to establish a claim or defense on behalf of the lawyer in a controversy between the lawyer and the client, to establish a defense to a criminal charge or civil claim against the lawyer based upon conduct in which the client was involved, or to respond to allegations in any proceeding concerning the lawyer's representation of the client;

And wasnt' there recently a lawyer who got in trouble for revealing too much information about a client or another in a rebuttal over a negative review she had? In a recent ABA review "Lawyer accused of revealing TMI in response to bad Avvo review is reprimanded; overdraft also cited"....

and the writer goes on to write "“Lawyers should be cautious that if they choose to respond, that their response does not exceed what is necessary to respond to the review and should be mindful that they do not reveal client confidences in violation of the rule.

"

Your response here shows just how much of a good lawyer you really are. Thanks for showing us all!

Hello James McNutt. Mr.

McNutt, the author of this review, is not my client. He is the opposing party in this case. And he LOST the case. My client is ecstatic about our victory, and she most certainly did not write this review, and she adamantly told me so.

My client also reports that suspicious negative reviews have popped up, with timing just as she is in litigation with Mr. McNutt. Funny how my client, who WON the case, would think so poorly of me. When in fact, she does not.

I suggest anyone who wishes to discuss this review further contact Mr. McNutt and ask him why he is posing as someone else, and writing bad reviews about his ex-wife's attorney. I suppose if this is what he must do, I must have done my job pretty dang well.

And I don't hide behind false identities. Scott Shaw

This reply does nothing to make this lawyer look any better. If this really is the owner of the business- all you did here was reveal too much information about your client and assume this is some person that your client was against in court.

This shows poor judgement on your part and as a lawyer I am surprised you would write such an elementary reply. Poor show.
