Hawaii Moving and Storage Lack of Truth and Transparency

My belongings were never shipped from a California port as promised. The company will tell you it was due to not having a permanent delivery address here in Hawaii, but that is only a partial truth. Items were picked up on June 3rd and I have yet to receive them as of July7th. Port to port takes no more than 10-14 days on average– tops. I was lied to on the phone by Karina on more than one occasion that they were in route and then she stumbled in one conversation and then said at port. Which I was under the impression meant the Honolulu port so I was ecstatic. I was led to believe it was the Honolulu HI port. Yet it was not. They in fact never left the mainland and that was never agreed upon. Keep in mind I arrived in Hawaii on June 19th. I was ultra clear about my Hawaii situation and temp living until I secured a perm apartment in Honolulu (I expected that to take a few weeks). I had a contract signed June 29th. Hawaii Moving chose to not be transparent in their plans. Had they been forthright that they would not ship out of LA until I had a physical address, verses pointing to a 45 day quote after the fact. I would have given my friends address and/or secured a storage unit in Honolulu minutes away from where I was planning to live. I spoke in detail with Karina about my plans prior to pick up (no contract was signed) and her reply was that estimate was only worst case scenario due to unexpected "mother nature" or uncontrollable factors such as a labor strike. None of these were the case & NEVER to the lack of an address situation. What I was lead to believe was my belongings shipped an would be held in their secure storage in the Honolulu port. Allowing me 30 days at no charge. This is an island that spans 30-40 mins from coast to coast–meaning local delivery is quick and easy. A asked them for a credit of the remaining amount due, which is $400, for this poorly handled and dishonest experience. No senior management/ owner has contacted me even after I asked a number of times by phone and email. A cryptic phone call was received on June 30th of which no full name was shared and from a blocked phone number--very shady business practice here. To date it is now costing me hundreds and hundreds of dollars to buy temporary things to live for now another month. I have already spent over $400.00 for household belongings to live which barely covers the minimum to exist as I once had already purchased for a bed, linens, pots, pans, silverware, bathroom supplies, office supplies (including a biz printer and supporting items) and much much more. In summary, I spoke in depth about my situation and they led me to believe my belongings would be held in a Hawaii storage facility they owned or managed (their name is Hawaii Moving and Storage) once they arrived here for up to 30 days included at no cost until I secured a perm address. Again I was very very clear about my situation. I would have stayed with the competitor company United for much less money which included a credit for AAA and a missed pick up date they had, which is why I switched to Hawaii Moving. I expect this will cost me at least $600.00 if in fact the belongings show up with a new date, July 16th, shared by phone last week of which I have two witnesses. Does it seem odd they had no trouble knowing the exact date here and now? Hawaii Moving and Storage held my possessions hostage for 24 days on the mainland without my approval or transparency of that action.

This man has issues that Ms. Edmunds attempted to resolve with him on numerous occasions and he refused all of her reasonable offers.

I personally know that she offered to take his puppy back and he refused. He prefers to trash her on the internet instead of engaging in a mature dialogue. I feel sorry for the puppy! I have a show dog purchased from Vizcaya Vizslas and have been very pleased with his health, conformation, and temperament.

Apparently he did not read the Pissed Consumer Terms of Service on this website , specifically, "You will NOT post on PC any defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, ... material, By posting information on PC, you warrant and represent that the information is truthful and accurate."

This buyer should be advised that further inaccurate and defamatory remarks on this forum or any other public forum may subject him to legal action.
