Angies List - Angie's List - Grossly Unfair

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought a service through this company and a few days later I found that because of a mistake in the listing, Angies List took $199. From me because they did not make sure this vendor could service the area where I live! The vendor contacted me and said he would ask to have the money returned. I waited, then tried to get my money back through Paypal because I had paid through them. Paypal denied my request because the payment was authorized. I find now that I have to ask for my money back within 30 days for a refund. Now they will give me nothing else than a credit on another deal. This is unfair and misleading in their advertising. Who is to protect me where this kind of policy is in effect? I asked for my money in 38 days, they require a request in 30 days. I will never again use this company and have asked for cancellation of my membership!

Sears - Wrong store, wrong fridge!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Ordered fridge, washer and dryer from Sears Outlet online. Assumed all units would be shipped from same store, but the order was split. W&D came no problem, but fridge order was placed with outlet store in Clearwater, FL. I struggled with delivery issues magnified, then when it did get delivered there were dents and scratches all over it and it failed, malfunctioned. We had it three weeks and had to send back. This situation caused us no end of stress and frustration. Got another fridge from St Petersburg store and it seems to be working fine. Have reached out to Sears Customer Service numerous times, so far nothing but we're working on it! #1Fail!

First fridge died because Sears was unable to get here in time to fix what was wrong. They traded us for another and we have a problem with it.

The delivery people did not install doors correctly and we are faced with again calling for service which will be two weeks out. I have decided not to rely on Sears for service because this is unacceptable and instead phoned the manufacturer who will be here in less than a week.

I have also written to Sears corporate office. Their customer service is useless, nil!

If you read the description of the items you look at in the Sears Outlet Store online, it tells you where the item will be shipped from, and if you're purchasing a 'like new' or 'refurbished' item, there is normally a picture or pictures of the item.

Wyndham Hotels And Resorts - Not a bargain at any price!

I booked Wyndham Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC through a third-party, first mistake! Unit run down, carpet dirty, old outdated furniture, toilet leaking in guest bath, broken roman shade in front bedroom, screw falling out of front door handle, loose electrical plugs, non working plugs on table, broken rack in dishwasher, condensation running from refrigerator, no spills. This unit would not comfortably accommodate 10 people; 6 adults and three children was a stretch. Since we were not Wyndham Rewards members, we were relegated to a lesser unit. This tower is scheduled to be updated in 2015, but that didn't help us. Activities for kids were not published, had to find out by accident. The staff was great, but that doesn't make up for the condition of unit. After we arrived home, I received an offer from Wyndham to purchase into their "points" program to the tune of $50,000! They had run a credit check and we could finance it for from 11-13%! I opted out of that opportunity immediately!

Days Inn - Terrible room

We were traveling from Florida to Myrtle Beach, SC and stopped in Savannah, GA because we were tired and couldn't safely driver further. My husband is 87 and I am 79. We were looking for a Quality Inn and this had been previously one, but been taken over by Day's Inn, Wyndham Properties! I want this particularly known because Wyndham is clearly not known for good customer service. We are obviously Senior and discount was not offered. First room was smoke filled, next one on second floor with no lift, third was moldy smelling and by a stairway where everyone in the world came by all night. Everything in the room was old, stained, broken, worn and dirty except for the bed. I couldn't drive on or we certainly wouldn't have paid $103. to stay a night in such a place! The internet didn't work properly. I gave up after contacting front desk, where it worked a few minutes and then not. There was only one packet of regular coffee in room and front desk didn't have any more. No water glasses and only two coffee cups. The bathroom was dirty and blood stain on shower curtain. I tried to lodge a dispute with my credit card company but it was denied saying services were rendered. I didn't say not rendered, just bloody unacceptable!

Preferred solution: At least some kind of refund, and no credit towards another stay, totally unacceptable.

Wyndham Hotels And Resorts - Huge disappointment at the beach!

I booked a week in Wyndham Ocean Boulevard for 10 people who were all family members, could not believe the condition of the place. The decor was '50's, blond furniture, carpet was dirty, hole in carpet at edge of kitchen, float leaking in toilet in guest bathroom which ran all night, refrigerator leaking condensation on floor, shelf in dishwasher broken, power point on lamp not working, broken window shade in bedroom, just generally what you would expect in a third rate motel, not in a resort. I did get some of the things fixed and the staff was more than helpful, but this is not what we were led to believe we would be getting in a resort of this high visibility and stature. Whole place needed serious update and repair. This unit would not sleep 10 people comfortably. It is a good thing that my grandson decided at last minute not to come. We had six adults and three children and it still was uncomfortable. I did get the carpet cleaned while the family was out and got the float on the toilet repaired. We were informed by an unnamed source that this was because we had booked the vacation through a third party. If we had booked through Wyndham, we might have got a better unit. This tower is scheduled to be redone next year. That didn't make it enjoyable for us. In addition, Wyndham ran a credit check on me and sent me an offer to buy into their "points" plan, saying I could afford to invest $50,000 with them. You think I am going to go back to a place like this ever again? NOT!
