Pep Boys - Classic Bait and Switch tactics

Friday night 9//1/18 I ordered a battery from these guys. The only place it was available was in Orem, which is about 22 miles from my home, I live in Sandy Utah. I received a copy of the order with prices and charges on it. The next day I received an email from Pep Boys telling me my order was ready. This was on Saturday, they also said I had 8 days to go in pay and pick it up. Sunday I arrived at the store, handed them my order, which showed total, order number and all and they told me they could not find it in the system so they would not honor the additional 25% off that the order showed. I kept telling the guy here it is in writing, here is a copy of the email that shows the order and confirmation. He told me it must have gotten lost so I could pay the in store pricing. I was more than irritated and told him it was fine I would give the information to the Attorney Generals office of Consumer Protection and file a Bait and Switch complaint. At this time the man that was helping me, who was hispanic with no name tag, laughed at me and told me there was no way I would file a complaint for 30 dollars. I told him with his attitude and customer service I would to it for 1 cent. After this he said he would honor he price. Seems these days everyone is out to screw the consumer. they offer one price then try to chanrge you more.

Comcast - No deals for me just contracts

Called Comcast on December 06, 2017 and the call was answered by a girl giving her name as Aconna, I asked to speak to a manager becauser my bill just keeps going up like always. She put me on hold for 15 minutes when a girl identifying herself as Candice and a supervisor came on. I told her my bill has gone up $60.00 a month in the last year. And asked what I could do to lower it. She told me there was nothing I could do except sign a five year contract which would make the bill go down $10.00 a month and I could take this plan or nothing. Im not kidding with this that is what she said then she hung up on me. Ive been a Comcast customer for about 17 years now, the customer service gets worse and worse. They tell you they are putting you on one plan then that is not what you get. They constantly lie to you about what they are selling you. Customer retention department is nothing but a joke. Its hard where we live to get anyone else for internet. Seems like your plan going from 146 a month to 210 a month within a year is a bit rediculous. Especially when you pay for a higher internet speed and the one you get doesnt even come close to it. Their comment is its always your equipment not theirs. I dont know when customer longevity stopped accounting for anything and loyalty to a company means nothing. Comcast will do about anything to get a new customer but they show no appreciation to somone that has been with them for years. One of our friends signed up with them not long ago and we warned them. Now they are going back to Direct TV.

Watts Premier - Great at taking your money and trying to solve your problem.

Update by user Feb 21, 2018

Never have heard anything from Watts. They were receptive as long as I would keep purchasing parts from them.

Once I didnt want to keep buyin they had enough of me and never responded to anything.

We replaced their unit with a Home Master system. So far its been a good decision.

Purchased a reverse osmosis system from Costco about 3 years ago. It was a Watts wp5 system. It has worked pretty good since we purchased it. About 5 months ago the system began running waste water all the time. After the tank is full it still continues to run a full stream of water and never shuts off. Contacted Watts, their customer service is really receptive, and they told me to blow out the tank and that should fix it. If not replace the auto shut off valve. I did both of those the problem continues. Now their suggestion is to just start replacing parts till I find the problem and if not just buy a new one. I liked their suggestion on just buying new one since replacing the parts they want will cost as much as buying a new one then after I spent all that money I can buy a new one any way. I notice Costco doesnt use their brand anymore Im guessing due to problems. Im replacing it but with another brand. If your good with $180 for 3 years this brand might be for you. My problem is that every time you need to do one of their trial fixs you have to drain the system and rechanrge it.

NewAir Cigar Cooler CC-300

NewAir Cigar Cooler CC-300
NewAir Cigar Cooler CC-300
Update by user Nov 14, 2017

Today I received another email from Elijah at NewAir, telling me he needed proof from me that this item was indead under warranty. This is odd because they have the information they drop shipped it to less than three weeks ago.

The email says that if the item is under warranty they can replace the damaged parts if I pay shipping and handeling on them. Wow I can even pay more for their product because it arrived damaged. Now looking into just returning the thing to to them. THANKS NEWAIR FOR TOTALLY SCREWING MY WIFE ON HER ANNIVERSARY PRESENT TO ME.

I feel bad shes so upset.

I will NEVER NEVER NEVER even consider this company for another purchase. Hope this review saves somone the same problems that we have experienced.

My wife ordered this for me for a 30th anniversary present on October 18th 2017 from Wayfair. Let me make this clear this is not a problem with Wayfair. This is a problem with NewAir, the manufacturer of this product. We were out of town when this arrived. I opened the box and noticed on of the slats in one of the drawers was cracked and there was scuffing on the stainless steel door. There was no damage on the box. I called the manufacturer, NewAir, on November 3 2017 and spoke to a person who said her name was Frieda. I told her the problem and she pulled up the order on their system and she asked me to send her pictures and told me she would send out a replacement and told me she would include something extra for me keeping the item with the scuffed door. She was going to send me a replacement drawer. I waited a week and called back to find out what was happening. I spoke to their representative and told him the problem. He told me that they had never received my email with the pictures and asked me to send it to him. I sent it to the exact same address support@***.com that I sent the one that he said was not received. He varified my address, that they had with the order, and then sent me an email with the replacemet part. I was told the scuffs on the door were too bad. For 400 dollars, I guess I was stupid to expect the cooler would arrive undamaged. Five days later I received an email asking me to provide them with a receipt before they could ship replacement parts. The thing that really makes me mad is he had a copy of my order, obviously it was drop shipped, and he told me they had everything they needed when I spoke with him. At this point I called Wayfair, and they told me they would get me a replacement, they were super nice. Im waiting to get the part now. However in retrospect Im worried that if I have any problems with the product in the future I will get the same customer service from NewAir that I have experieced. It seems prudent if you are going to order one of these cigar coolers, no matter what the reviews on them are, to think about the customer service this company provides. I would have ordered a Wytner, from Costco, because I know the customer service to expect from Costco. We were going to order a NewAir wine cooler untill this problem. I would NEVER order another product made from NewAir in the future, I will order as often as I can from Wayfair. Its hard to show a clear picture of the damage to the door, but it is obvious enough that when my friends come over they all notice it.

how is this costco's fault that you closed your credit line? the reason why they did was because amex wanted to charge more interest rates and went to citi because it was less interest with more rewards.

And costco doesnt change cards that often.

amex was with us since the 80's. this is more of an issue with amex not costco

Ooma - Service used to be good.

Ive had Ooma for the past 5 years. For 5 years have been happy with the service and had no real problems. Ooma does rely on you having a good internet connection because it is a VOIP product. Ooma has always block anonymous calls to my home since we purchased it. I do know this because my cell phone is blocked and sometimes I forget to unblock it when I call home and am reminded I can get through. For the 5 years Ive had the service Ooma has been trying to get me to spend the 120.00 a year for their premium service. Two days ago all the people with anonymous phone numbers were able to get through Ooma. When I tried to call I found I could not so I had to use their chat feature. I was informed then that my Ooma had never blocked anonymous calls and I would have to buy the Premium service to accomplish this. Its one thing for a company to screw long term customers into having to spend more for the same service, but its another to call their customer a LIAR. I purchased this product from Costco, kind of surprised they still deal with such a dishonest company. I used to recommend this product to everyone now I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. They are just another deceitful business.

Resolved: Officemax - This company is VERY unethical, at least in the way we were treated.

My wife and I visited OfficeMax in Sandy Utah. We purchased a large number of gift cards. There were some where the company had to put the amount of each card on the cards. When the cards were charged to us just over $3,000.00 of these cards would not activate. They charged our credit card anyways. The manager on duty worked on the problem for over an hour. She tried to refund the amount on the credit card but could not because she could not return gift cards. We were notified with it being a Friday night there was nothing that they could do but she would take care of it on Monday. Well that was over a month ago and we cannot get anyone to respond to us or take care of the problem. Now they just dodge our calls. Its sad because we did nothing to cause this problem and now it looks like we need to take legal action against them. I would never do business with this company again, this is nothing but theft.

Pampered Chef - Very Cheap Knives

We purchased one of this companies knives a while ago. It was a meat knife and worked pretty well. A while later my wife bought a set of these knives, what a disappointment. I cook quite a bit and use the chefs knife a lot. It seemed ok at first, nice balance and cut well. After a few months the knife went dull and the edge began to pit. Tried to sharpen it but the pits are just to deep to remove. Then the blade started to rust and now the other knives are rusting as well. The knives were not that expensive but they were not cheap either. If you are looking at these knives, save yourself some money and buy a cheap set at Walmart they will probobly last longer

Pampered Chef does not manufacture any items themselves. They design items and have a reputable manufacturer produce them.

The blades of the knives you have are made in Germany, probably by Wusthof or Heinkels. The rust issue can be stopped by not letting the knives sit in the sink too long and never putting them in the dishwasher. This type of knife needs to be professionally sharpened once every couple of years, especially the sizes you use every day.

It is not something you can do at home with your honing tools. Any hardware store will take them for sharpening at about $1 an inch.

You do know your knives have a lifetime warranty on them, you can get them replaced.

#965653

The knives have a warranty. Please contact 1-888-our-chef for a replacement. :)
