Spectrum - Constant, regular fee increases

This has to be one of the greediest companies around. Right now, during a pandemic when so many are out of work they raise the fees, again, for internet. I spoke at length with a customer service person. She said that they had a meeting recently where many of the other CSR's said people calling in are hurting and because of the pandemic are out of work (like me), and these fee increases are coming at a really bad time. For me it's the 2nd fee increase this year. The CSR said they have virtually no discounts for loyal customers, seniors or any of the other types of discounts or programs other companies may have to help people out right now. IT'S JUST PLAIN GREED! They know you don't have many choices, so they just don't care.

Cons:
  • Limited options for internet means that spectrum does not care

Preferred solution: Price reduction

User's recommendation: If there are other options for internet in your area, avoid Spectrum.

Spectrum sucks, plain and simple. Get away from them as quick as you can.

AUTOPAY - They bait & switch, then fail to return calls & emails

Updated by user Aug 11, 2019

After several communications that were not returned, I FINALLY got an email claiming that the mountain of paperwork I sent in over 3 months ago to remove the surprise $999 extended warranty from my loan was apparently lost due to "staffing changes" at the warranty company. I was told the paperwork was resubmitted.

So now what? I wait ANOTHER three months?

Worst company I've dealt with in a while. I got my car refinanced with them and when it was done they had charged me $999 for a warranty I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT. Trying to cancel this overpriced warranty has been frustrating. They don't return emails, they don't return calls. Finally I got hold of someone who sent me forms to fill out and told me to wait 6 weeks to see the charge removed from my loan. Well, that was 3 months ago, and nothing. STAY AWAY FROM AUTOPAY--THEY'RE SLIME!

UPS Store at Central & Indian School in Phoenix

I've rented a box at this store for over 2 years. I'm the only one who's ever received mail at my rented mailbox, yet for the entire time I've been a customer there, I'm constantly getting mail put in my box for the previous box customer. This means I have to constantly wait in line for the counter person so I can tell them that "this isn't me". BUT THEY NEVER *** LISTEN! They even had a note on my mailbox instructing employees to only put MY mail in this box, yet they still ignored it. One reason I like renting mailboxes is the personal service, but this UPS Store never--not once--has ever delivered that for me. I'm just another number to them. I just tried to inquire about having my mail forwarded since I'm now living in California and THEY WERE VERY RUDE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS UPS STORE AT ALL.

I work at a UPS store, and am in charge of the mailboxes there. At our specific store, there are over 200 active mailboxes at any given time.

That is a LOT of boxes to keep track of, especially when you factor in that several boxes have more than one person receiving mail there and their various businesses. Now, I can understand your frustration at continually receiving mail that is not yours, but please keep a few things in mind.

1)To start, yes, there is the person who had the box before you, as well as the person before them, etc. Those are relatively easy to keep track of, but if you don't receive mail very often, employees are unlikely to remember anything about your box specifically. That, however, is just the tip of the iceberg.

2)We also have to routinely deal with boxholders having mail and packages addressed to alternate names than the ones on the box. This is not to say that there is more than one person on the box, just that a single person may be receiving packages under anywhere from 2-4 names.

3)Beyond that, there is no guarantee that the person sending you things is going to have correctly labeled your mail. Both mail and packages often have the wrong name on it and/or the wrong number. So, when we see something which has the correct number, but the wrong name, we tend to put that mail in that number's box.

There is one more thing for you to consider too; as inconvenient as it may be to be getting mail in your box that isn't yours, it is far better than not receiving mail that is in fact yours.

If they decided to only put mail in your box that perfectly matched your name and box number, you would almost certainly be missing out on some mail that actually way for you.
