Geico Is NOT Customer-Friendly, Just Premium-Money Friendly

After being a loyal customer for several years, I had a mechanical breakdown with my vehicle in Buffalo, New York. Geico's towing service (Auto Rescue -- the name must be a joke) did not show up, requiring a second call and a second towing service which finally did show up after a two-hour wait in total. I had no cell phone and had to wait in extreme heat/humidity which created a health issue. This Geico-related delay nearly caused my vehicle to not be repaired by the shop to which it was towed because it was near closing time when I arrived and they were unsure whether they could get to it that day (fortunately, they did). When I called Geico about its poor service, a supervisor empathized with my situation and said she would check into compensating me for this debacle as I requested. She was supposed to call me back by a specific time but did not, adding insult (and rude unprofessionalism) to injury. I called back and spoke to another supervisor. After an extensive discussion with lots of hold times, I was told nothing further could be done. I did NOT accept their profuse apologies, DO have a very bad image of Geico now after this incident and its very poor handling (including and especially the "customer" "service" -- neither of which was evident in my case), and would NOT recommend Geico after having thought of it as a reputable company before this one time when I needed them most - and they failed in multiple ways. I had received many solicitations from Geico's rivals to give them my business, but held firm with Geico because I believed they would treat me right when the time came. They didn't, and they suck. Having a gecko is an appropriate symbol for the company because it is a slithering nuisance that you want to get rid of when encountered. Keep this in mind about Geico: when they want your money (premiums, etc.) they're as friendly as can be, BUT when it's time for them to do something for you, even due to their own mistakes, they either ignore you and hope that you go away (I didn't and am not) and/or they deny you because they're very profit-motivated (NOT people-oriented) in my opinion. You're better off with another insurance company that CARES about you! Here's what you should think every time you see or hear the word GEICO: Get Excellent Insurance from Competitors Options.

Elburn Police Department - BEWARE SPEED TARPS IN ELBURN, ILLINOIS!

One big extortion racket.Be very careful when driving to the Metra railway train. Long freight train delays en route purposely done to cause motorists looking to make the sparsely running Metra train to speed up - and the police are ready for you. It's all contrived to get your money and is a disgusting way to "do business." Do not take driving supervision course there if ticketed - not recognized even in Illinois, and does not reduce anything. Avoid Elburn, Geneva, Saint Charles (La Fox) and other small towns along this railway line. I will not relocate there as a result of the corruption (imo) so the bad actions of the police and courts cost the state lots of lost tax revenue dollars from me and others I've warned about this. Maybe some DECENT state rep can look into this - visitors want to feel welcomed, not hunted by the speed-trap police and complicit courts! Had a nice visit there with everything else, except for these stinkers who drive away visitors to the state - and, worth repeating, cost state tax revenue dollars Illinois might have had if not for the small-town speed traps/extortion/ rip-off "court-supervised traffic school" - a real joke!
