Four Seasons Sunrooms - Four Season Sunroom, Concord, NH area- Long Drawn out work, with very little communication

Hired a local Four Seasons Sunroom Dealer/Home Renovator Contractor to add 4 dormers and a balcony to my home in early 2011. He started in April 2011 and completed the job 10 months later in February 2012. Took a very long time to complete the job and disappeared for weeks at a time to go do other jobs, so in the meantime our house was torn apart and a mess. If I tried to call, or e-mail the builder he would not get back to me for sometimes more than 3 weeks. When he did work he sometimes would only work for 1-2 hours and then disappear for days or weeks, When I was able to confront him on this issue of taking so long to complete our project he always promised to finish faster, but of course never would. In addition when I contacted Four Seasons as a company and they reached out to him to talk to him about my issues, he was angry and defensive when he found out I contacted the company about his actions stated above. At the time of contact with the Four Seasons consumer area of the company he had ignored about 5 attempts that I had tried to reach him and he had dissappeared for about 3 weeks. Could not believe his reaction as I tried to explain to him that his work was taking way too long beyond the promised two months he said it would originally take. In the end we had to live around his work mess in our bedrooms on our second floor of our home, and chase him down for 10 months to finally complete the job. Furthermore, the deck he built recently leaked against the side of the house and when I contacted him again to fix his warrantied work it took him 5 weeks to respond back to numerous calls and e-mails. When he did look at it finally he said he would fix it. Dragged it out again and I ended up fixing the leak myself. The only thing he did was come out and deliver a metal stripping and spent a few minutes placing it against the deck. He then completed an absurd act of billing me $188 for the part and labor. I had to spend a total of 10 hours fixing his mistake and then he completed the absurd act of billing me for his mistakes. Can not figure out how someone could be so unetthical and non-professional with his actions. The $800 loss I quoted is on the low end of what I consider my costs for materials and my time to fix his mistake on the leaky balcony. Sorry, but I do not recommend the local Four Season contractor in the Concord, NH area for any project for anyone's home. I will say the work he did complete was quality and done correctly. But the frustrations of dragging the project out for months at a time, no contact back when I called or e-mailed him with numerous messages, him getting angry with me for contacting his company franchise for help with resolving the issue, and the final straw of me fixing his mistake of a leaky balcony and then charging me for doing nothing to fix the problem makes this whole experience a definite comlaint. My advice would be not to hire this person.

How did the contractor do his job "correctly" when you had to fix his mistakes. Either you think the contractor is good and you would refer him to others, or he's bad, period!

I think we used the same builder - he built a sunroom attachment to our home in 2009 - left my roof open for 5 weeks during the 3rd rainiest summer on record! I had water pouring through kitchen light fixtures, down behind the adjacent wall, and into my cellar all summer.

The sliding door has a drainage problem, constantly has water in it after rain - have never been able to get him to come back to fix this problem, and now this week we have developed a leak in a roof panel - doubtful I will get him to come back now! We love our sunroom, but this builder was awful.
