Family Dollar - Angry employees are mad for a reason

first complaint

Family dollars do not care about their employees. they have store managers working from 50-90 hours a week with no extra pay. that takes away hours from asst. mgrs and cashiers. most asst. mgr only work 28-32 hours at a rate of 9.00-10.00 an hour. most cashiers are 0-22 hours at a pay rate of 8.25 an hour.

no one has received a raise, unless you are having relations with the DM or PM. No one gets paid sick days or holidays. vacation days are a joke because you only get 10-24 hours worth of vacation hours for management. what can you honestly do with that?

The amount of work Family dollar asked their employees to do is outrageous. they expect one person to do the work of three people and barely get paid to do the job of one.

they cut hours from stores especially during the holiday seasons. and they also dont pay employees for holidays except on easter.

Customers come in the store and MAKE BIG MESSES IN THE STORE. YOU ALL NEED TO STOP DOING THAT. IT IS RUDE AND IT ADDS TO STRESSING THE CUSTOMER. YOU DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN THE *** UP. STOP LETTING YOUR KIDS RUN FREELY IN THE STORE. ITS NOT A PLAYGROUND. IF YOU DROP SOMETHING BE COURTEOUS AND PICK IT UP. its MY JOB TO BE THERE BUT NOT AS YOUR MAID.

upper management does too much plotting to get people fired instead of working together to make the work environment cheerful.

pay your employees, give them hours, raises, budget increases, give them holiday pay for ALL holidays, sick days. without the little people Pm all the way up wouldnt have their nice raises and healthy salaries.

Please Google "Family Dollar employee fired after going off on local 10 investigative employer". Watch the Family Dollar employee cussing out the reporters who were investigating complaints about her filthy store.

I totally agree I am a manager in Oklahoma and I was holding three stores and work 104 -116 hours a week no extra pay it was expected. Then I got hurt and they are trying to fire me.

Oh, really? I just thought that they were mad because they were suffering from some form of mental illness.

Just like the nutjobs that you sometimes see walking down the street who are shooting the rod at and yelling profanities at passerby. I usually just laugh at them, but keep a safe distance away so that I can get away if they decide to start attacking me.

Family Dollar employees are total wackjobs, just like the ones that you see walking down the street shooting the rod and yelling curse words.

It sounds like someone needs to teach you and educate you not all employees or managers do that. Clearly you're labeling people without knowing anything about them! Get lost and get an life if all you're going to do is pass judgement onto others!

I saw a gentleman doing that in Key West, Florida near Christmastime. It was real sunny and in the 80's at the time, and he was dressed in heavy winter gear like he was in Pittsburgh.

A man and a woman riding bicycles down the sidewalk laughed at him shooting the rod and yelling profanities at them.

I think that if maybe if he had changed into shorts and a short sleeve short that maybe he would have felt better. He had to have been miserably wearing that heavy winter coat.

It was a wonder that the airline (or even Greyhound) let him on board looking, smelling and acting like he was. He looked to out of it to have hitch-hiked, and obviously he had come from some place real cold with all of the serious winter gear that he wearing.

Now, I HAVE had people like that sitting next to me on Greyhound before, but without all of the cursing and swearing and shooting the rod.

many times they had been and were still drinking and got put off of the bus to their very loud talking. I was always very grateful to the driver for putting them off of the bus.

Let's hear the employees and managers side to the story. Clearly there's always two sides to the story!
