I don't believe that a customer doesn't have the right to stand up for an employee who is being treated unfairly. The customers in a restaurant or any other business have the right to a peaceful, respectful atmosphere not the ranting of someone who is trying to show off how powerful he or she thinks they are by creating a public scene. If a supervisor needs to speak with an employee it should be done in a professional way behind closed doors and not in front of customers or other employees.
Any supervisor who does otherwise is showing that they have been given a job that is beyond their capabilities.

It would have been appropriate for some of the "audience" to stand up and tell the little *** exactly what they thought of him. Also stating that if there were any repercussions against the waitress, head office would be contacted. Before leaving a good number of the "audience" should have left the woman their email address and/or telephone number. Maybe the little *** would find our what intimidation felt like.

I can't understand why so many folks complain on this site about dirty restaurants, hotels, stores etc., but there is rarely any indication that they took the time to contact the local health department and complain so that a health inspector will go to check the situation. Most businesses are far more concerned about being inspected than they are about losing a couple of customers who checked out sites such as these.

I had a similar situation with another business and like you had to argue to get them to charge the correct amount. I call the government department that collects the sales tax and told them what happened. I found out later that they went to the business and did an audit which determined that these extra amounts were not being sent to the govt. Needless to say the company found themselves in a lot of hot water.

I would send them a registered letter (the type where you get a record of someone signing for the letter) advising them that you are having your well water tested and you expect them to pay for the test. Also advise them that if that test shows that your well has been contaminated by their chemicals that you expect them to pay for any necessary actions that have to be taken.

You do realize that the trick at Winnipeg Dodge is to take your driver's license and keys and registration for your own vehicle and hold them hostage and force you to sign whatever they want you to sign? Any reasonable person says "just walk away" but this place is criminal in how it operates. How can you walk away without your driver's license and the vehicle you came with???

The following might be worth a try. Ask close friends or relatives to accompany your children to the lessons. One adult for each child. Give each person a letter authorizing them to be with your children and send a copy of the letter to the school. If they refuse to let any adult be with each child, then red flags should be going up all over the place. Is there not some type of gov't office in your area that sets the rules for such businesses?

I would say enough is enough. Stop trying to deal with them by phone or email. Send them a registered letter, the kind that gives you a copy of the receiving signature. Give them a specific period of time to take care of the problem, a week should be sufficient. If they cannot resolve the issue to your satisfaction in that time period, advise them you require immediate refund of any monies paid to them. Also advise them that all future communications between their company and you must be in writing. A lot of companies such as these are scared when forced to leave a paper trail. Good Luck.

Thank you bigsam, you will see my follow up here as to the outcome. Only advice is when you are ordering big ticket items, unless you have some type of super duper online coupon discount only, talk with a rep. In most cases, they will honor the discount by phone, they want your business after all. Have never, ever had a problem with online companies like this one, and intend to make myself heard loud and clear. Oh, yeah, give us a chance to make it right, where the *** have you been for 2 months??? No chances left. This guy had no "assistant" he was just sitting back behind his little desk at his little cubicle with his little feet in the air. Blame it on others is always a sure sign the blame is on you. Just please people, be very careful, do your research, you should really call these places just once, customer service, make sure you have someone who speaks and understands English, and then take it from there. At least make that one call. They tend to get names, addresses, order numbers, etc, incorrect. Staff not paying attention to business likely because at that time of the night there is no manager present with any authority to run the business properly. Where I live we have a gas station/convenience store which during the day provides great service but after about 8PM it is more like an unruly school yard, with friends of the employees hanging around and no one paying attention to the customers. Encourage all your friends and neighbours to do the same. In a rural area customer service can make or break a store. There was a similar situation in our area and finally the management got the message. When I was there the other day I actually overheard a customer getting decent service from an employee. There may be some hope. We will see.

unless they start with new mangment and hourly people, its not going to work. we are all tired of dealing with nasty and rude comments from staff. the manager;s way of dealing with bad service is giving you a small discount off your purchase. companies need to stop "bandaiding the problem" and just fix the problem. they lost alot of good workers over the last four years and gained alot of bad ones..
