ContainerOne - Container One dropped my storage unit in my front yard
Update by user Jan 03, 2019

Today is January 3, 2019 and the container is still sitting in my front yard. I have contacted several BBB's and all they do is pass my letters on to the company, which ignores me and will do nothing.

I have also contacted other agencies, to no avail. Somebody needs to research this company and make them a responsible business, instead of a business that takes advantage of people and rips them off.

On October 31 I ordered a storage container from Container One. Twice I was told they would be delivering, and both times they did not. The third time they called to say they were delivering, I was skeptical, but hoped for the best. That was November 16. I called them abut 1:30 pm to inquire about the delivery, as I had been told it would be delivered around lunch time. I was told they were loading the unit. By 4:30pm I had heard nothing, so I placed another call and was told they were loading it. As it started to get dark and I had heard nothing, I called again, at this point the delivery guy would not take my calls or call me back. I called the company, Container One, and was told that the unit would not be delivered since it was getting dark. After dark I was sitting on my couch and heard a strange noise and as I looked out the window, I saw the container going past my house. I called Jason, the delivery guy, but he did not take my call. I sent him a text, asking if they had just gone past my house with the container, no response. Then I called Leslie at Container One and she was as surprised as I was that they were delivering the unit. She gave me the driver's cell number and I called him. The driver turned around and came back and I went out to the road to talk to him. I told him that he would have to go through the pasture, across the front yard, and into the other pasture to drop the container on the stone base that I had hauled in. He informed me that he was not going to drive across the grass as he did not have 4 wheel drive. The truck he was driving was a big Dodge Ram that obviously had 4 wheel drive. The 4 wheel drive was broken. REALLY. The unit I ordered was the largest one they have and they loaded it behind a truck without 4 wheel drive. They knew exactly what the land looked like as the driver had googled it, the second time they were to deliver and it was after dark; so they canceled. He said that he would try, I guess it was that, or take it back, or leave it on the road. He did great going across the pasture and across the front yard, but as he slowed to make the turn at the corner of the house, he got stuck. Had it been daylight and had he had 4 wheel drive that never would have happened, he would have been able to drop it on the bed of stones. I hooked onto his truck with mine and tried to pull him out, but could not. I called a neighbor to bring his backhoe. In the meantime the driver dropped the unit in the front yard, at the corner of the house. My neighbor did not have enough diesel in the backhoe, so was going to bring his big tractor, but it would not start. In the meantime another neighbor came over and pulled him out with his tractor. So, now I have this huge orange container sitting in my front yard and can not put anything in it until it is placed on the bed of stones that I had ready for it. Which is a problem. Container One will not come and move it to the spot that I was told they would place it. They will not respond to my messages or phone calls. I contacted the BBB but all they did was send them a copy of my message, and they responded, but that is as far as it went. They refuse to make this right. I purchased the unit with the understanding that it would be placed where I wanted it. The response they sent to BBB was laughable as they said they only use a 4 wheel drive vehicle when they have to, REALLY. And it would be an added expense, I was never never told this. And I do not believe for one second they send a truck without 4 wheel drive to deliver one of these huge units. Plus they had googled my house which showed exactly what it looked like. I am 77 years old, so if they expect me to pull it across the grass to the stone, I can't, but I could not do that even if I was 20 years old. The reason I purchased the unit was for storage. I buy and sell items. I have some booths rented at a Peddlers Mall, I also sell on line, and at garage sales. I had purchased a large party tent to place things in temporarily, however, we had 50 and 60 mile an hour winds that took the tent to the ground. I now have the tent wrapped around my items and they are getting ruined from the rain and weather they are being exposed to. I wanted to get the items under cover before bad weather hit, but that did not happen, so everything is being ruined. I have a sister who has had Multiple Sclerosis for 47 years and is in a nursing home. I take care of her and the money I make goes towards her care. She is only 65, so was unable to work for a good part of her life because of the MS. She is on SSI, so only some of her expenses are met, such as medical. Now I have the worry and expense of finding someone to move this unit, because they just dropped it in my yard. I know that they have had many successful deliveries, however, this one was not. I think they should man up, admit they have taken advantage of me, and correct their mistake. This fiasco started on October 31st, today is December 4th. and here I sit with a huge orange cargo container in my front yard, which I can not use; and all of my things, which are to go into the unit, being ruined. I hope that you will pursue this and warn others so they are not taken advantage of by this company as I was.

This company is a joke.

I was going to check about buying one of these units--after reading this man's article and others--I've decided not to.. A company not doing their homework before delivering one of these units is on them not the buyer..

I highly recommend you avoid this company. I am in a major dispute myself with them on the quality of container they are trying to deliver to me and their warranty is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard.

They take no responsibility and place it all on buyers. If they drop it. It’s your problem.

If they don’t drop it yet. They still think it’s your problem!

That warranty is a joke ours arrived and the doors have to be beaten closed with a hammer and we were told as long as we can close then they can't do anything .that we need to grease them or if the metal is right to bend them out .wish I would have found this site first I would never have bought from them .

I purchased a Karcher power washer a couple of years ago, to wash the house. A neighbor stopped by and offered his much larger washer so I could get the job done quicker and easier. I did use it once or twice to wash my truck, so it actually has bout 10 hours on it....

The Hartford - Hartford said I had insurance coverage, then 2 weeks later denied it.

I was on my property, backing out of the drive. I stopped for a moment, then continued to back. Another person had pulled in and when I turned to exit, I hit his vehicle; which I had not seen as it was not there when I had started to back. I gave him my insurance information and he called Hartford, they assured him that it would be taken care of; when I called I was told the same thing. Then about 2 or 3 weeks later they called and said that I did not have insurance and refused to pay. I lost my drivers license over this whole incident. If I indeed did not have insurance, why did they say I did when we both called? I then dropped my insurance with them, which included a car, truck, house, and a commercial building. There never was a police report as it was on private property and my insurance said they would pay.

Microsoft XP is being phased out, so you must purchase a new program.

I have an older lap top with WindowsXP. I just received a notice that they would no longer support my program and it was being phased out. I will be forced to purchase windows 8. My laptop is older and I hate to go to the expense of purchasing a new program, not knowing how much longer my computer will run without an expensive repair. I think they should supply a replacement program if they are going to phase this one out. If I do purchase a new program, there are instructions on how to install it, however, it is way beyond my technical ability, so I would have to pay someone to install it. This is just such a rip off.

dude im a system builder and thats how we see microsoft scamming the world by forcing OUT a product . and that dude commenting saying yu can still use xp wtf?

yeah you can still use it OFFLINE!! but when you go online or if you need a NET FRAMEWORK or something that needs the most updated issue or program........youll be up the creek .

all the fixes they call fixes and flashplayers are simple BUGS they create to slow your pc down more so you dont enjoy surfing too fast.

its a co-op between your internet provider, mirosoft and computer sales,

what they all do is fix it where your never satisfied therefor you always upgrade and buy nore products.

theyyd all go B.R.O.K.E if they left it alone see??? :(

Now that's paranoia at its finest! Microsoft is doing what the makers of nearly all products do - they update.

Because technology continues to develop so must the o/s that runs that technology. Can you imagine playing today's games on Windows 3.0? Microsoft must update to keep up with it. Auto manufactures do the same - as advances in safety and convenience develop they must change the model.

It is progress, not a scam. They give the people what they want. I don't know who the "we" is that you mentioned but I am in constant consultation with the IT dept.

at work and they get all excited about every change. They embrace the changes as necessary, useful updates.

When they say that they will no longer support the system, that means there will no longer be updates and fixes. You can use the OS as long as you wish and will likely have no issues but even if you do, whatever has been written by Microsoft for that OS will still be available. Like if you have to do a disc wipe and reinstall, you will still be able to get the service packs and such.

Hughes Network Systems - Beware: They will take money from your bank account, even after you cancel

I had been with Hughes net for several years as it was the only thing available in my area. Recently I found something faster, and they do not take money out of your bank account. That I did not like from the beginning, but was the only way I could get the service. When I called to cancel the service, they gave me the run around and kept me on hold for a very long time. At last it was canceled and I would not be charged for another month; or so I thought. They took another payment from my bank account, so I called and was told they would refund the amount. They did not, so I called again and was told, again, they would refund, they did not. I am not so sure they understood what I wanted, but assured me they would take care of it. I still did not receive my refund, so I tried sending an email. That did not work, so to date, I still have not received my refund and have sent another email. My next step is complaining here and other sites, the Better Business Bureau, The Attorney General, News media, and any place where I can complain about Hughes net taking an extra payment. I will warn anybody considering them as a internet provider, and I definitely will not consider them in the future.

On yesterday I placed an order with Hughes Net and then cancelled because I was told one agreed price per month by the representative, but when I got my emailed confirmation, the monthly amount was over $70 more. I cancelled the order and was told my bank account will have a 3 day hold.

I asked if they can place a 3 day hold on my account, why can't they cancel the hold? I was told they can't because they don't have a way to do so. When I talked to the bank I was told they can cancel the charge with a phone call. Hughes Net refused to contact my bank and cancel.

This company has no compassion for the consumer, all they are interested in is the money!

:eek Hughes Net is using my money for 3-4 days and the consumer has no say so...I don't think so. I will be contacting the corporate offices to see if they are aware of this.

Jackson Electric - Excessively High Electric Bills

I live in Kentucky and am on Jackson Electric. Their rates are outrageous. And there is nothing to be done. Out of a 4 week billing period, I was gone 2 weeks. Only the refrigerator and freezer were left on, nothing else period. Fore the next 2 weeks, when I was home, I was very conservative of my electric, which I always am. I unplug everything I can, microwave, coffee pot, computer, stereo, etc. I love music, but do not listen to it during the day, no TV, radio, stereo, etc. The TV is sometimes turned on at 6:00pm, but other times only a light to read by. No lights are left on. I live alone, so do laundry once every 2 or 3 weeks, hanging it on the outside line when possible. I do not cook very much. My electric consumption should be very very low. I keep my thermostat between 65 and 68, turning it back to 60 at night. Don't like being cold, but have not choice. My bill was $200.43 for that billing period. How in the #@$% can one person use that much electric when they are gone 2 out of the 4 weeks and conserving? These electric bills have gotten totally out of control and there is nothing we can do as the electric companies are a monopoly and you have no other option. I now leave my furnace off, and it is 20 to 40 degrees outside. Today it is warmer outside than in. I dress in layers, plus a winter scarf, stocking hat, gloves, sheep wool slippers, and lots of blankets. Sometimes I have to turn the furnace on long enough to lay over a vent, with a blanket over me. I do this a couple of times a day when I get so cold that I just can not stand it. Once I warm up that way, I can face the cold within the house again. I am considered elderly, so this is a very difficult time for me. Although this would not be good for anybody to have to go through. My neck, back, and legs are aching with muscle spasms because of being cold. If I am even a little late, they will shut the electric off, again, so I must live in the cold in order to pay the bill. Rather sad, but that is the American way.

Get in touch with the District Manager First of this power company. Legally the

customer service people will have to tell you his name and direct you to his

office.

Or better yet just go down there and ask to talk with him.

You do

not prove this they will not help most likely.
