Samsung s8 purchased over 1year ago after update can't be unlocked by Samsung Australia

The phone did a auto update at night. In the morning I couldn't unlock my phone as no keyboard came on the screen Went to Telstra ( .my service provider) and they couldn't help. They tried. Went to Samsung service centre and they also couldn't help because it's not an Australian phone. Ended up having to buy another phone. I would like this Samsung unlocked so I can keep it as a spare John
