Lowes - Be very careful with Online/Phone orders

Here is the sequence of events - Saturday I got confirmation from our home warranty company that they would provide me with funds to purchase a replacement washing machine. Saturday night I went to the Lowes website - I've bought from them before. I could not see when the soonest delivery date was for the washer I wanted that was in stock. So I called the 800 number and asked if they could see that. She said no, but if she created the order, she could tell me so I said please go ahead. She told me Monday delivery. Great, just go ahead and take my credit card and process it. They had two addresses on file for me as we moved last year. I told her to make sure and use the new one. No problem, that's in the order now. You can see what's coming - they had the wrong address for the order and I had to call them back on Sunday. The delivery service company said I had to call Lowes. The first person I talked to at Lowes said I should just cancel the order and make a new one. Me: how about you guys change the address for the order? Multiple transfers back and forth.. I tried calling back and more than one person was confused and then I got put on hold for eternity. While I was on hold, my wife called and SHE got through to someone who said they would fix it. Spoiler - they didn't. When I called in the morning, I talked to someone who said they would fix it. Spoiler - they didn't. When I checked the delivery status online, it still showed the old address. Called the delivery company - they didn't get a change of address for the delivery. They said they would check. Called Lowes to make sure they passed on the information. She said they did but it still showed the old address. Then she said that they probably would have to redeliver it - EVEN THOUGH MY NEW ADDRESS IS HALF A MILE AWAY. I said that is not acceptable. Tell the driver to send it to my new house. They said they were not sure they could do that. Bottom line, it took me two days to try and get my address changed for a delivery.

Dead Net - Do not buy physical items from them.

I placed an order with dead.net for a hoodie and a beach towel in early Dec 2019. Both were listed as in stock and ready to ship at the time. I was also charged immediately. Granted, it was before the holidays, so certain delays are expected. However, after a week or so with no updates, I called and emailed CS to get some sort of timing on when I would get my items. At first, they noted to me that they did not know when they were going to be able to ship them - and also said that they didn't have information on the towel and whether it was even in stock. One person even admitted that they "oversold" it. Finally, they were able to ship out the hoodie and I got it the first week of Jan. The towel still showed as in stock that week and I checked on the order. They said - "Unfortunately, we do not have an estimate as to when/if the item(s) you have ordered will be back in stock. Due to this, we would like to provide you with the following options: We cancel your order, process any applicable refunds and/or reverse any outstanding authorizations to your credit card. You continue to wait for your order to process and ship. Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email." Remember, they already have my money for this. I noted back to them that how could it not be in stock if the website shows it available. ! provided them with a screenshot. They said they didn't know that and would correct it - spoiler, they didn't. On Jan 13, they issued me a refund that took a week to get back to my credit card - in itself BS. So, lesson learned - do not buy anything from them.
