Thrifty Foods - Another store to watch out for in Courtenay is Thrifty's

XL Foods beef recall expanded in B.C. - British Columbia - CBC News www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/.../bc-x Oct 2012 – Thrifty Foods spokesman Ralf Mundel confirmed a label mix-up at one of its stores has resulted in some mislabelled roasts being recalled. That is bad, but in Courtenay the way they have the customer service set up, is awful too. It never fails when you are using the interac pos machine there will be sometimes four or five clerks pushing through, coming in and out through that flip door they have, so they disrupt your rhythm or looking over your shoulder when you put your password in the machine. I actually lost my wallet at that counter, cause of that confusion and the big blonde woman refused to look in the secure room for me, and I was almost in tears before the manager went in to look, and there was, with my $40 dollars missing. That is when I through out my points card, to limit the confusion I get at that desk. They wonder why people are not shopping downtown? Everything is so slow, beside the rudeness they show to people and getting harassed, they are so slow.

Horrible experience at shoppers drug mart in courtenay, BC, Canada

Verbally abused by clerk, then another clerk then a customer, and I was really in a hurry to get back to work, why did they even have to talk to me, if they weren't going to be nice, and that customer behind me, well she seemed to get incited by the other two, I have no idea who she was, that is what I am saying, you have to be careful of your personal information in that store. All they need to know is your birth date and your name, any one can be looking of the person's shoulder, how do we know that we don't.

I don't know why they have Ottawa Ontario since it was Courtenay BC, I really thought the person behind me was going to hit me, the two clerks and then the customer started to yell at me, and they acted like this was normal. I don't think any one else was in the store accept people who work in it, no wonder.

Walmart is always busy, that whole mall up there is super nice to shop in, so far so good.

Downtown Courtenay is not expensive downtown, every thing is so slow and unproductive. And it is getting worse.

Harrassment while walking doing an errand owner of Laughing Oyster Books,

Update by user Nov 18, 2012

There is a suicide problem in this town. I give you three guesses to why.

I am finding that a group of people are continually manufacturing conflicts for me and are interfering with the enjoyment of my life and wasting my time. In this case this woman came out from nowhere, got real close to me, with no introduction and in a confrontational tone told me that she is always seeing me walking, she said that day I must have been walking for four hours, which wasn't true, I was just doing an errand. It disturbed me cause she was causing a disturbance of the peace around me. She also confronted me in the library when she was manning a table, as if I had actually done something to her. I had no idea who she was, until someone said that the event was sponsored by the book store so I phoned the store and found out that that she owns the store. Nevertheless the sidewalk is owned by the public, I have just much right to be left alone by strangers as anyone does. Being marginalized is an awful feeling maybe people should think of the other person and how they would feel if the same thing happened to them, though it probably never will.

Courtenay Museum - Would not tell me where I could get a bus pass from

I went into the Courtenay museum, there is a sign that says visitor information, and they have bus scedules, so I took a scedule and went back to work. As I read it I realized I was going to have to get a bus pass if I were to accept a job up in Cambpell River, so I went back the next day and was going to ask if they sold bus passes or knew where I could get one, since the museum is right by the main bus stop I though they would know and possibly even sell bus passes. So I went in, the woman at the desk told me to wait, never asked me if she could help me, ran up the stairs, and ran back down, and I asked her if she knew where I could get a bus pass from, and she said I am going to have to ask you to leave the building, then she pretended to phone the police. You would not believe how shocked I felt. And she was twice the size of me. So I said I hope they charge you with discrimination, of course you know they will just do it to the next person. I phoned the city anyway and complained, partly it is the city hall which sells the bus passes which is typical, and the person on the phone was not that bad, and told me to me phone back and complain to her supervisor, which I did, it was like talking to Tweedledee dee and Tweedledum . And if they were smart they would be selling bus passes there, instead of embarrassing people when they ask for one. That is possibly one reason why Courtenay economy is crashing it is not sustainable to embarrass people instead of serving them.

A and W Restaurants USA - I feel they gave me bad service cause they thought I was ***.

I went into the A+W in Courtenay British Columbia, with my coupon, when I got my order I looked in the bag I could not see the fixings, and I asked and they said the fixings were at the bottom of the bag, I got back, and the salt and pepper were not there, but that is not what bothers me, it is the coindenscending tone that they told me they were in the bag and they must have known they weren't, and then they are so nice to the other people and actually ask if they would like fixing. It is too bad they couldn't treat everyone with respect, and not embarrass people over some small thing like that. No wonder the economy in that town is crashing.
