The Student Support Centre - Unable to cancel home education program

Signed up with Exemplar Education after child bought home leaflet from school. Later found out they had ceased trading, and now using this new name. They had sacked 100's of tutors without pay, have a large web of various companies, and director has links with the finance company. Something very dodgey going on there! ยฃmillions in debt in some of their related companies, but soaring profits in others. Missold the scheme....turns out it is NOT a subscription service (as they state) and you cannot cancel your agreement and so are stuck with paying over ยฃ80/month over 5 years....even though it appears that it does NOT in fact follow UK curriculum, and is no longer affordable. Bad reviews on trustpilot are blurred out, moneysavingexpert also has bad reviews, and there is even a facebook group for people who have been scammed by this company! They will NOT allow you to simply cease using their website, and refund the money they have paid themselves from the finance company which they also direct.

Pros:
  • Some form of maths and english tuition
Cons:
  • Stuck for 5 years
  • Not as described
  • Unfair contract terms

Preferred solution: Keep the money i've already paid, terminate the finance agreement, block my account from accessing your education platform, and I will not take legal action, with my current level of research against your company.

User's recommendation: Do not sign up for this program

RollyChic - If no phone number it's probably a scam!
Responded to an advert for some cowboy style boots, at $43 it wasn't too good to be true. Waited several weeks for delivery, and these cheap, nasty, plastic counterfeits turned up, rolled up, in a plastic bag. The company refused to accept a return, told me to gift them to a friend, and offered me a $5USD gift card....to spend with their company! Exchanged many emails, eventually got a return address, but they wouldn't pay return shipping....so had to start a dispute with Paypal....which took a few more weeks. Almost 600 customers have joined 2 facebook groups, united by these scammers! They have used several different company names, but all have the same stolen imagery and reviews from genuine site.
