CompleteSave.co.uk Scam!! Beware purchasing online even from sites you often use!

Completesave #1448826
sorry to hear this! Am trying v. hard to campaign to get more publicity about all this.. with so very many companies facilitating this scam. What happens is when you purchase something legit, after you have paid with your card details, you then see what is called a 'pop up banner' offering 'tick this for £10 or so much off your next purchase' which is tempting & easily done, appearing to be genuine from the co. you have purchased from. This is Complete Save's 'box' basically.... who then siphon your card details from the genuine payment you have made with the train co. Your Bank should sort this out OK - I'm with HSBC too. Best of luck

Hi - sorry to learn about this! May I ask which train co. 'facilitated' this ? I am suspecting it could be almost all! Trying to get list - cld. be v. long - of all companies who are 'involved' indirectly, but involved - in this scam!! Have sent email to BBC Watchdog - really hope to get this publicised! Good luck - you should be OK.

MissRed spotted small amount taken from her Bank a/c fraudulently & eventually DID get a refund! I am in an 'unhappy mood' because of what you SCAMMERS and shops/companies who collude in all this... is all continuing. 'Stepping up' against Complete Save - together with a pro-active consumer rights group of people..........until this STOPS!

As this appears to be 'ongoing' &, unfortunately, I don't seem to 'getting anywhere' with BBC 'Watchdog', 'Fake Britain', etc., I wonder if it might be an idea to 'name and shame' the companies, such as WH Smith, Trainline, Qjump and what appears to be so very many more...... for their part in colluding with this: allowing our card details when we click on 'pop up banner' for so many ££s off next purchase'!! (may have to start separate threads 'naming & shaming' these companies, which will take some time - I'm also going to ask my local 'computer whizz' expert his opinion on this kind of thing) I believe most people DO, indeed, get their money back, although it can be a minor and/or extreme inconvenience! Best wishes, all.

'pop up banner' - just words I was looking for! I still get one of these on ebay.co.uk pages, too...... 'so much off your next online purchase'! OK, just made a small purchase from ebay: got this 'pop up banner':
Thanks for your order!
Click here to claim your £16.87 cash back on the next purchase you make anywhere online!
Then underneath in what appears to be 'script' writing is: COMPLETESAVE.CO.UK !!! So what on earth is happening here? Is this related to ebay; almost anyone we purchase from online?! Admit I am puzzled! But is still a comlete SCAM!

Lying to innocent people again, 'Mary'?! You are obtaining customers' of OTHER genuine companies, such as Argos, Trainline, QJump, Argos.... CARD DETAILS THEN DEDUCTING... via the 'back door'! This will eventually get reported on TV consumer programmes such as BBC 'Watchdog'! Questions also need to be asked of companies who facilitiate/allow your SCAMS! I even get a large square ad. on ebay pages...........'completesave' written in tiny lettering on the bottom! Time you were stopped!

Oh no!! 3 years!! So another site 'allowing' this! Sorry to say I got 'nowhere' with BBC 'Watchdog' and/or 'Fake Britain'! I think 1 day I may actually try them over the phone, as had emailed several times. I reckon it would also help if as many of us as possible do the same... then hopefully, it will 'flag up' well with them...........so many other scams going on! But this is now getting 'mega' with all these other genuine companies actually encouraging/promoting this scam! Maybe the scammers PAY these sites to add this on? It would take quite some time to contact ALL the companies who are now participating in all this. So sorry, Sally, to read your daughter has 'lost' so much money! A 'timely' reminder (for me, too!) for everyone to check their Bank a/cs regularly!

I think I only got 'caught' with 1 payment & find this an insult to you to offer it to you back in 3 instalments! Yes, 'cancellation of membership'...........you, I & others did not seek /apply for - 'membership'! I just wish BBC 'Watchdog' would feature this, but they are likely inundated with scammers all round! You're abslutely right - it is theft!! If you're in the USA, might there be equivalent consumer protection TV programmes?! Recently I needed to book train tickets on another UK rail ticket site. What I recall was on the page (and you can process the order and easily 'miss' it) was a box you could tick 'to get discount off in the future' - intimating discount from the co. you are purchasing from. This must be how Complete Save get your card details passed on, as you've already entered them to purchase the tickets you need from the rail site.........doesn't 'look good' on the many companies enabling this.

I actually saw them 'pop up' online in adverts on another page only today! This looks suspiciously like the very MANY sites (look for address and local telephone number, which you are unlikely to find!) based in CHINA! ALWAYS check each website which must, by UK law, have an address displayed and a geographical telephone number. 'Online chat' is NOT good enough and they only make themselves available at THEIR convenience, not yours! Sorry to read about your experience! Beware of these many 'scam' companies in China and/or Hong Kong!

Review in Online Shopping category from San Antonio, Texas

Light In The Box #1036929
They do purport to be in the UK! (I met a lady on holiday who had bought a beautiful dress from them - RARE & extremely lucky!) By law a genuine UK company MUST have a (ideally) geographical phone no. AND someone easily accessible on their site - their UK address! BEWARE!
Lots of these 'companies' have 'sprung up' in China! Been in a Facebook campaign against some. Several purport to use a PO Box in Portsmouth - then stuff gets returned to someone who knows nothing about it!
Do ensure you have a legitimate phone no. & UK (or USA) ADDRESS incorporated into their websites. ALSO, I have 'issues' with Light in the Box. I am an animal welfare campaigner/vegan - they sell real fur!

Tech Support Mart #1036923
Expect these '***' have by now set up under several 'names' purporting to be 'aol' 'outlook' etc. 'help'! I reckon Google must have a huge part to play in this, but, as you say above, ARE they doing anything about it? I don't know how they work, but presume all 'money-orientated'; all I know now that for sake of privacy you can get something about yourself OFF Google & people have done it. But this is 'another thing'! Well, they picked the wrong person in me! I now almost laugh about how 'so charming' this man with an 'English name' was - with his 'veiled threat' 'asking me' to stop blogging! So I recall putting on a 'correction' 'oh dear, my mistake' ha ha! - then after REFUND, I just started blogging again! It IS frustrating, though, if you DO actually get some problem with, say, hotmail (now called Outlook) & want/need help. Think you have to go into the 'help' actually there on Microsoft and/or ask others on the net - often useful. Most of these services seem to NOT offer direct help to customers, particularly if you are getting the service free, but prefer you to go into REAMS of 'community help'!

Tech Support Mart USA is 'scamming' people. Following my initial 'dealings' with them - when I had also called what I thought was a 'hotmail support no', this was then verified by my excellent computer repair expert. He took in my computer to his workshop, worked on it over 2 days to 'make it safe'! He definitely said I had been 'scammed'. I had 'purchased from this 'company' a new anti-virus' program - giving this co. 'remote access' to ALL on my computer! As I'd (unwisely) saved most passwords on documents- there are so very many 'log ins' I have for different sites, I had to spend a lot of time checking every site I am on - including my bank!! I changed passwords on everything! Be careful what you search for on the internet and NEVER give anyone you don't know personally 'remote access'!

ATTITUDE OF EMIRATES CABIN CREW

Emirates Airlines #525251
Problems with management of Emirates: I just had to add to this as I flew with Emirates about 3 years ago and was so lucky to find the crew were very kind, helpful and friendly, devoted to their jobs. However, I have a friend used to work for them - very dedicated to her job. Sorry to say it was generally found they have no employment rights whatsoever, as anyone would in the UK. I had heard that new employees were being offered a lower salary; also heard about several of the staff having to endure a common attitude of 'bullying' from several in positions senior to cabin crew + managers/employers; many crew periodidally called in for 'disciplinary action' for no good reason! A friend of mine who was genuinely ill; also suffered lack of sleep due to some of the long flights with short lay-overs (hence even following Emirates own rule-book - is UNSAFE when safety of crew & passengers should be paramount)- got 'disciplined' despite doctors' certificates. It was even suggested 'someone in management had got it in for her'; we know very well who it is and can't mention this woman for legal reasons; my contact was dedicated to her job; loved the job and always anxious to help pa...

So I will leave the \'open resolution facility\' and NOT cancel until money is in bank \'make wigs co. sweat\' for all the upset, time & distress they have caused us & probably other people!! I called Citizens Advice (formerly Consumer Direct) as I have a case. no with them & they found ALL the information I had given them over several days! They recommend anyone in the UK with a problem with this co. & can\'t see how anyone won\'t \'have a problem\'!! that they ALSO call Citizens Advice on 08454 04 ** ** press Option 3. I need only call them again if there\'s a problem with Paypal, but think should be OK. They highly recommend on online transactions in general use CREDIT CARD or PAYPAL. Now - all this information is being passed on to TRADING STANDARDS!! I don\'t know how \'quick\' they can be as had heard \'short staffed\' but get the impression they are taking this matter very seriously indeed! BUT I do hope that anyone who has ordered & is waiting receives their wig & that it fits the description. Tell them what I did: you have reported to Citizens Advice and raised dispute with Paypal. Sorry I wrote a very long answer & it's gone!It didn't seem obvious from the website they are based in China; purporting to be 'co.uk'! I enquired - eventually got a reply as to delay 'coming from factory in Hong Kong'! As recommended by Citizens Advice, to ensure it IS real human hair, took it along to local hairdresser who confirmed it is real! (I no longer live close to London with all the various wig shops, etc.) However the length was much much shorter than advertised! I got 'email after email' 'Dear Customer wig no......'. early today 1st one 'we will offer you £50 refund (cost me £146 + postage!) and I 'could keep it'! Then, decided to go via Paypal Resolution Centre after they came back with offer of £100! Told them I had done this and asked for £120 due to the stress, time and 'hassle' I've had! Another email agreeing 'expect a refund of £120 in 1-7 days'! I will check Paypal, see if this happens & inform Citizens Advice, as they have asked me to! 'Watch this space'! I usually shop on ebay and Yes, many are companies with good ebay ratings saying clearly wigs are made in China. I got a replacement from an ebay seller in 24 hours!
