FOOD POISONING GROUND ROUND RESTAURANT

I was a huge patron of the Ground Round Restaurant located here in coastal Connecticut. I am also a minimum 20 % tipper. Having been a waiter before anyone who knows this work knows the wait staff works hard for their tips. I visited a Ground Round Restaurant here on a regular basis, at least 3 times a month. On my last visit, because I will not return for the rest of my life, I was given a nice case of food poisoning. While at the restaurant I sent my chicken breast (Dinner) back because it was not hot. When it came back to me it was a little warmer but not hot. I said to heck with it and ate my dinner; everyone else was nearly done anyway. Upon leaving the restaurant I had to make the mad dash for the John. Needless to say I sat on the throne for awhile. This went on for the rest of the evening. When I phoned the restaurant the following day the management gave me grief. HA! I thought so I called the home office in Massachusetts. What do you think they did . . . more of the same. Not only that, the woman on the other end of the phone had -0- restaurant experience and NO knowledge of how to handle a customer complaint. Furthermore she was a; “you know what!” It has now been a number of YEARS and I have not returned to any GROUND ROUND anywhere. I steer all family and friends away from the nasty establishment and in the case of my local GR, I tell visitors to the area if they want to spend their vacation on the throne, eat there. Not ever again for any reason will I ever patronize another GROUND ROUND restaurant . . . and to think of all the years I went there from my child hood when they showed cartoons on the walls and we ate free peanuts. To have year and years, 3 decades, come to this. They ought to be embarrassed and ashamed.

Yea, I was recently food poisoned at the same place in Mystic, CT while on a trip. Guess someone else too found this website to voice their concern. Never again, no more garbage ground round for me, my family or any of my associates or their families.

For the public to know is the following: The viewing of all inspection records of the inspections conducted by the PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT is allowed. All one need do is arrive at the Public Health Department and ask to see the files.

They can not ask you your name, and they can not ask you why, they will simply get the file on ANY RESTAURANT you request and hand it to you. In there, AS I FOUND WITH THE GROUND ROUND, is a host of violations. Many when read will have you not returning to the dining establishment . .

. EVER. Following my trip to the GROUND ROUND I both viewed their record and requested an inspection. YES, YOU CAN ASK FOR AND YOU WILL GET AN INSPECTION OF ANY RESTAURANT YOU REQUEST ONE BE CONDUCTED ON.

THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT WILL GO DO THE INSPECTION, again, you remain anonymous. All of this took place following my episode with the ground round. What I viewed in their file was NASTY. Additionally, the Health Department rep.

reported 3 violations of un-cleanliness from the inspection following my episode with FOOD POISONING. So mr. or ms. non-name, have to hide behind rardiv or whatever false hide behind name you use, you make the trip from the home office and pull the files here and see what your employees have no been reporting back to you.

Make another feeble attempt at playing Johnny Cochran with me and I will begin to POST THE RESULTS OF THE LAST INSPECTIONS AND ORDER ONE BE DONE AND POST THAT TOO.

No, you can not screw with F.O.I. nor can you stop me from posting information.

Perhaps you should shut the *** up gr - defender. I have been to FORMAL Culinary schooling and am very well aware of food born diseases.

Additionally, I know how to handle customers and customer complaints. For the length of my entire life I had not that event before and following my dissociation with this unclean and uneducated chain, it has NEVER happened again. So when I say it came from the nasty kitchen of the ground round I am both educated and experienced enough to know. I was there and in the moment YOU WERE NOT.

Do not second judge me.

Just because I know a person for 30 years does not give him/her the right to slap me in the face and then punch me and the gut and expect forgiveness ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES AT THE EXPENSE OF MY HEALTH AND IS ON MY DOLLAR! How long have you worked for them and in which capacity.

Perhaps you, too, should be ashamed, if you allow decades of happy memories to be tarnished by one small event. Yes, the staff could have handled this better than they did.

But you know what? You could have had some sort of virus in you that simply hadn't hit yet.

It may not have even been food poisoning. It's sad that all of those happy memories are (if you'll excuse the pun) flushed away and you've devoted your life to warning people away from something that may not have even happened.
