Evans and Sons Automotive and Towing - Business did not protect my vehicle in a reasonable manner

I am one of the registered owners of a vehicle that was impounded on January 15th, 2021. West Jordan Police called upon Evans &;;; Sons Automotive and Towing to have it impounded to their lot. Before it was taken, the officer noted several items inside the trunk. Upon retrieving our vehicle, the manager informed us that the keys were under the floor mat. Our car was unlocked, the keys sitting on the front seat. When we opened the trunk, our brand-new tools purchased at Christmastime were gone, along with other personal items including Ray-Ban sunglasses, cologne, etc. This could have been avoided if Evans &; Sons Automotive and Towing would have taken the minimal amount of care in protecting our property while it was in their possession. Leaving car keys inside of the unlocked vehicle is highly negligent. I'm certain that many former employees are aware of this ridiculous practice, and it has happened previously. This was a huge loss to us, over $650.00 in tools that were purchased on Black Friday at great prices. We'll never get these back. We were told by a guy that was incredibly rude "that's what you carry insurance for!" Well, we aren't getting reimbursed for anything that was stolen from our unlocked vehicle.

Same. See below.

I waited 5 days for them to figure my payoff. After 3 years payoff was $680 over the principal amount shown. Put it all on a spreadsheet and finally figured out they were charging extra if you were late a couple of days (up to 10 days for me sometimes) and not applying that to my monthly due (interest only $45k equity loan). That amount gains interest compounded monthly and you get hit with the total when paying off loan.

I relied on the website payment due amount. Maybe received 3 statements throughout the years and they were confusing and came from SC instead of Texas where my loan was being serviced.
