Mazda North American Operations - Lemon of the Year

AS a previous owner of a 2006 RX-8 which had numerous mechanical problem that Mazda refused to adequately address, I traded it for a CX-9...Car of the Year by Consumer's Report. This car seems to be working mechanically, but after 2 months and 2,000 miles, I have had a body sean open twice...and No, there were no dents, dings, or other indications of outside trauma to cause it. The first time, Mazda in the guise of their District Manager for the Seattle Area trefused to repair it because of some minor and superficial marks on a piece of plastic trim... The seam again reopened after a 10 days...

many years of problem free ownership...from 626 then rx 7 and now a rx 8 they gave it a complete rework at 53k miles, free...write/call to HQ and get satisfaction...forget Toyota they're worse...

You have a clear manufacturer's defect, probably a one of a kind failure during the automated welding (read robot) process used in car manufacturing. I can't understand their reluctance to repair this.

Depending on the weld, it might be costly to them, but their reputation should be worth something.

I would contact the actual district manager, then the national complaint rep. Failing that, next time get a Toyota.
