Forrest Surgery Center - LIPOSUCTION PATIENT DIES / TONY PHAM,MD / FOREST SURGERY CENTER

A 21 year old female patient of Dr Tony Pham. MD died at Forrest Surgery Center in July 2011 after a liposuction probe was stuck deep into her abdomen and cut a large blood vessel. The young woman bled to death on the table. The lady became a coroner"s case. Forest Surgery Center did not have the resuscitation equipment or blood available to save her. Lack of resuscitation essentials or broken and faulty liposuction probes may have been the cause of the death. Why these events occur is hard. Bay Area Surgical Management, the Forest operator, puts great emphasis on centers to make profits rise as do many medical outpatient surgery centers. A wrong move by the surgeon can cause this. Patients can wake up during surgery and jump around if the anesthesia is improperly done. All things can occur, any one of which could be the culprit. Although it doesn't happen very much, plunging a liposuction probe into any organ is very dangerous. l

FOREST SURGERY CENTER LIPOSUCTION DEATH, SAN JOSE, 95131

There was a liposuction death at Forest Surgery Center, a Bay Area Surgical Management Surgicenter, in July of this year, 2011. A 21 year old Vietnamese female, undergoing tummy liposuction, died on the operating table, after the surgeon poked a major inter abdominal vein with a liposuction cannula. The cannula impaled the abdominal wall and ripped open the patient's vena cave vein, causing massive loss of blood and death. Being in a surgicenter and not a hospital, this mortal injury could not be treated and the 21 year old died. Instead of going home to recover, she went to the coroner. The 21 year old deceased female was said to be very thin with just a small tummy. There have been similar cases reported across the state. Be sure are check out the surgery center's safety! linda

There is so much wrong with this story. I will not say anything about this but i will say that these people who come up with these stories need to really do their research. Don't believe everything you read!

When a great misfortune such as this occurs it is good to look at all possible causes. Was Forest Surgicanter at fault because of bad equipment?

Did a bad cannula break? Did anesthesia play a roll by allowing the patient to wake up and jump around.

Was Bay Area Surgical Management at fault for hiring unlicensed surgical techs or for not having adequate resuscitation plans and equipment? a

Permits mean nothing if some screwed up. If something happened that should not of happened this is wrongful death.

unfortunately ..no surgery is risk free, she won't be the first or last to die due to a so called routine procedure..that s why they make you sign those papers before the intervention !

Stanford Health Care - STANFORD UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL BAD FOR PATIENTS AND DOCTORS

Stanford University Hospital has sent patients records all around the world and broken hippa rules. If you have been to Stanford's Emergency Room your records are easily available to anyone interested. Stanford is just not a good hospital. The staff is uncaring. Stanford is pushing all doctors off Welch Road. Stanford wants no private doctors at Stanford. Stanford is closing Welch Road to make private doctors practices fail. At Stanford the nurses are very unhappy. Scary huh? There is much hostility even toward the dentists on Welch Road and Stanford is damaging them. A patient had hip surgery at Stanford and was very unhappy Avoid Stanford Hospital. Go to Sequoia , a great place. Do your homework. Is Stanford more interested in building new hospital than giving good care in present? Yes is my vote. l

Stanford Health Care - LIPOSYCTION DEATH IN SAN JOSE BY ABDOMINAL PUNCTURE

A liposuction death of a 21 year old Vietnamese woman occurred in San Jose in July of 2011. The death occurred because of puncture of the abdominal wall by liposuction cannula during a tummy liposuction. The abdominal vein (the major vein in the body) was torn by the cannula. The patient lost blood and died on the operating table at a well known surgicenter in San Jose. During liposuction my intestine and lung were punctured in San Francisco. I was quite sick but since my surgery was in a fine hospital I survived. Beware of surgicenters. Check them out with your family doctor. Many are dangerous. The surgeon that did my liposuction turned out to not be a real plastic surgeon. Be careful. I bet the San Jose doctor that punctured the poor 21 year old lady's tummy was not a real plastic surgeon that was boarded? linda
