Hong Kong Restaurant Of Hampton - Hong Kong...Phooey!

I decided to treat myself to Chinese food from "Hong Kong" restaurant on Big Bethel Rd. Under the "Chef Specialties" menu, I ordered 'Seafood Wor Bar' at the price of $10.50 and a Shrimp Egg Roll. This is their description of the dish: Lobster meat, King Crab meat, Shrimp, Scallop w/mixed veg. served with sizzling rice. (I only now realize, the rice was plain white rice, nothing sizzling going on.) After paying close to $15 for my meal, I get home only to find one piece of "Lobster Meat" about the size of my thumb. This can't be, there's got to be more in here! I pour the entire container into a larger dish in search of more Lobster; there is none. The "King Crab Meat" is imitation crab or lobster meat and it's chewy and tasteless. I took (tried to) one small *** of the lobster; it's not even fresh, it's old and tough. I didn't bother with the rest of it because now I'm angry! I call, the same guy answers the phone and I tell him my complaints. First thing he says is "Yes, there is only one piece of lobster in the dish." I say, it's not even a whole piece; it's not fresh, etc.,. I then start about 'false advertising' because of the imitation crab meat when the menu says, King crab. He agrees that it is 'imitation' but says, "that's how the dish is made." I tell him, I know the difference between real King crab and this ***. The menu shouldn't say it's one thing if it's another at the price it's selling for. This guy went on to ask if I've ever had it before, if I had it from there, then points out that there are scallops and shrimp, which it's supposed to have anyway, so what's his point? I'm trying to keep a civil tone but it's not working. So I say I'm disgusted with this meal and to make an even sillier conversation short, he eventually said he'd give my money back. They definitely need a new "Chef." You can guarantee, I'll never go there again and will tell all my friends and neighbors about this horrible dish. They are trying to deceive the public who may not know the difference between real King crab and imitation or who may just let it go but I'm not paying for genuine to get imitation anything...EVER.

I can't believe this place is still open. So much for the health departments interest.

They have food stored in an upright refrigerator along with the soda's right in the front of the place. Any one who still eats at the place is puttinf their health in jeopardy!

FTD Online ordering
Update by user May 12, 2015

Husband noticed he had a missed call from Grace this morning and returned her call. According to her, because of the holiday (which was Sunday, not Monday) the orders were mixed up.

Yesterday was my 20 year wedding anniversary. My husband ordered a beautiful arrangement for me. 7 hours later, after cancelling a dinner reservation, the guy shows up with the ugliest, thrown together mess, I've ever seen. What my husband paid and what I received didn't match up. Orange roses, some other ugly little flowers that couldn't breathe because there was too much Babies Breathe. I wouldn't have taken this to put on a grave site. His enclosed card said it was an anniversary gift, but obviously this didn't even cause someone to recheck the order and assure it was correct. I felt like whomever put it together took an "Oh, well" attitude. When you order online, they don't tell you which florist the flowers will be coming from and I didn't take it out on the delivery guy but I was hurt. He actually saw the hurt on my face and said he was sorry but all he does is delivery them. Terrence ordered them at 11 AM, I'm hungry as *** and wondering what's the hold up with our dinner plans when he finally had to confess about the flowers. He said he had called a few times to see what the hold up was. 7 PM this garbage shows up! My husband was furious and I've never seen him so angry in the 25 years I've known him. This almost ruined my day. He could have picked them up himself but paid the delivery fee just to surprise me. I was heartsick but it wan't his fault. FTD, you almost ruined a wonderful milestone but I love my husband so I didn't let it ruin 20 years of memories and happiness. However, I will never entrust your services for anything again. When it really mattered, you dropped the ball. I added a photo of what my husband ordered, I was so unhappy and shocked, I didn't take a photo of what I received. But as you see, there isn't anything orange in this arrangement!

Taco Bell

I love Taco Bell but I'm fed up with the workers who don't pay attention to special orders. 9 out of 10 times this is my order: 1 crunchy Taco, 1 steak soft Taco - NO TOMATOES. 5 out of 10 they get it wrong! I moved into a different area and hoped this location would get it right...WRONG. I used to call/complain, get a coupon but I'm just tired of them not getting my order right. Once, even with one of my free we're sorry coupons, they still got it wrong. I stood right at the counter, opened it up and saw tomatoes. Forget about going through the drive thru. I guess they don't expect people to check their orders, I do, then I have to park, go inside and get a replacement. Now I'm late for an appointment or just totally pissed off!

Cox Communications - Cox Cable pulled a fast one. Part 2

A lesson in the art of "Bait and Switch." Last year, after doing a little research, I decided to go with Cox Cable's bundled service; Internet, phone and cable for one price, one bill. Sounds good and convenient, right? Wrong! As a mature adult, who has been handling business for a long time, I know which questions to ask about the bottom line and fine print. I also asked for quoted prices in writing which I received. The "bait" is where I was told I would have the same price for my services for 2 years, so when my bill came and it was higher, I called. By the way, I have not had the bundled services for one whole year. Here's the "switch": my contract did NOT include cable increases, so until my 'contract' expires, they can go up whenever and as often as they deem necessary. Fair? I don't think so. They have 'deep pockets' I do not. I understand some increases but my paychecks are not increasing so if something has to go, I say good riddance to Cox Cable. I will not pay more money for a service who is deceitful, dishonest and doesn't offer full disclosure to loyal customers. As a side note: Verizon was nice enough to remind me a year has almost passed and if I wasn't happy with my switch, they'd be glad to have me back. You can believe I will have more questions and be wary of anything they try to pull on me. I'll switch as often as I need to in order to stay within my budget.

I too have a very similar issue regarding the cox bundle. I have noticed my cox bill going up $15 to $20.00 over the last 2 months.

I was told by a very rude CS Rep that my promo had expired this past May and if I tried to cancel any one of my services I would have pay a hefty cancellation fee. Come on Cox....stop stealing from you customers.

I apologize for any billing problems you have had with our services. If you would like to email me at coxhelp@***.com I'd be happy to investigate this issue further for you.

Cox Communications - Cox Cable pulled a fast one.

This post is the last straw. I intend to post another part which is the red flag that was raised after they pulled the old "Bait and Switch" on me. On Friday, August 8, I remembered I had missed an episode of "Whale Wars," on Animal Planet because the previous Friday, the cable service went out until after 2 AM. I wanted to watch the episode I missed before the new one came on. I went to Cox Cable's On Demand section, found Animal Planet listed in the 'freezone' section, but couldn't watch anything. It said I needed to subscribe. OK, I pay for AP, so thinking something was wrong, I called a tech for help. After he reset my boxes, etc. with no results, an appointment was set up for a technician to come out the following day. On Saturday, Monique from Cox cable called to confirm my complaints. I explained the problem again. To get to the bottom line, after 3 calls from Ms. Monique, I was told that although AP is included in my current cable package, I'm not able to watch AP On Demand, because I don't have a different package that includes a lot of channels I don't want. The cost would be an additional $54+. Just to watch AP? I don't think so! This is absolutely insane, unfair and the last straw for my relationship with Cox Cable. I pay for HBO, Starz and lot of other channels that I can watch On Demand except Animal Planet. Something is wrong with this situation. This is an unfair practice and I don't like it. When I moved here from NY more than 20 years ago, Cox was the only game in town and if I wanted to watch cable TV, I had no choice. I have a few choices now and plan to utilize other options. ASAP!
