CLC Legal Referral Svc Not Trustworthy for Reliable Referral
Don't take a chance with CLC Legal Referral Service. Although they verify attorneys are a member of the State Bar, there is no verification that the attorney has a background in a particular type of law. I very specifically requested a Special Education Lawyer. Twice I asked, "He is a Special Ed Attorney?" The customer service agent promised me he was. After giving the attorney Mr. *** $2,000.00 it became clear that he did not know Special Education Procedures. It turned out he is a Real Estate attorney. With Real Estate in a slump and the economic downturn he took on cases outside his area of expertise. My son's IEP meeting with Mr. *** representing him was a joke. My son wound up loosing all the accommodations he had before and was worse off after having Mr. *** represent him than before. Mr. *** refused to return any of my money. When I complained to CLC they admitted they don't verify that attorneys truly specialize in any area only verify they are an attorney. CLC told me an attorney can check off any types of cases they are willing to take and they will send customers to them. There is No Verification that have any particular expertise or specialty. CLC takes the attorney at their word. CLC couldn't care less when I complained. Their responses to my complaint that they referred me to a real estate attorney when I asked for a special education attorney was cold, calloused and more than frustrating. CLC does business without a conscience. There is absolutely no benefit to using CLC for help finding an attorney. Don't trust them.
