ABS Moving Company - use someone else

Pick someone -- anyone -- else. These people are terrible and have no interest in meeting customer needs. Although they agreed to pick my stuff up on a Sunday, they called on Saturday night at 7:00 to tell us that the truck had broken down and wouldn't be there until Tuesday. When we asked for a discount or reimbursement, they told us that the truck breaking down was an "act of God" and that there was nothing they could do about it. When we asked them where the language in the contract about delays, reimbursements, and "Acts of God" was, they said that it wasn't in the contract, but that "in the moving business there's a lot of language that we use" that isn't included in the contract. When I asked to talk to the Manager's supervisor, he told me that he ran the company and that there was no one above him. When I asked whether there was any negotiating room between the 100% discount and the 10% he was willing to offer, he told me that the price of gas and other issues meant that he wasn't going to make a profit and that there was "no feasible way" to make a better offer and that I was only calling him unreasonable because he wasn't getting his way. Thanks, ABS Moving and Storage. Because of you, I can live with my life in boxes for 48 hours and miss two very important professional meetings. Stay away from these people. They're irresponsible and unresponsive
