Travelsmart Vip Club - Travel Smart Does Not Honor Contract

Am posting my experience for those who are considering to purchase their membership. I purchased the membership bck in 2019 for a term of 7 years.

Initially we had our reservations and hesitations because Travel Smart said we cannot cancel and that they can unilaterally change the terms and conditions anytime. But the sales person ended up agreeing that we can cancel anytime and this was captured in our Verification Document which forms part of the contract.

In 2021, we wanted to cancel the membership and has sent Travel Smart multiple emails, however they have been harassing us since. Claiming that we cannot cancel under our contract despite the fact that we have the right to cancel documented.

Please be careful and think twice.

One of the reason why we wanted to cancel was because Travel Smart changed the point system. We used to pay to buy points to be used towards redeeming a room in the future.

And the food n beverage will be settled at the time of reservations.

However they have gotten rid of the point system. We now only get discount on room rates with our membership.

Preferred solution: Travel Smart honor my cancellation right and stop harassing me with their collection emails.

Collection emails?? That is them e-mailing you They will never hire any collection agency because what they do is illegal. Stop paying and change all your contact info Money you paid so far is lost like thousands other customers that were screwed for thousands dollars

After I have received a response from TravelSmart VIP Club that I can indeed cancel anytime and forwarded all the relevant correspondences AND a copy of the contract, their Accounts Department is still harassing me refusing to acknowledge what their company has said and honoring the contract terms. They are now passing my account to Collection Agency!

TravelSmart actually marked this as a resolved case when clearly it has not been sorted out internally. Their lack of / breakdown in their companys internal communications is at the expense of my credit rating!

Good Afternoon Eugenie, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us once again. Using the information included within your comments we were able to locate your membership as well as the verification contract you refer to within your post.

As per the document, and as clarified by our team to yourself on various occasions, should you wish to cancel your membership you are able to do so, however, this will lead to a lost investment of all monies paid towards your membership. Please be advised that the smart points included within your membership entitled you to a discounted rate on your all-inclusive accommodations with restrictions based on the membership level purchased. The points were never a form of payment nor were there additional charges for food and beverages.

When we upgraded the membership program and eliminated the points, these were replaced with a greater discount for all members and all travel restrictions were removed therefore significantly increasing the value of the membership itself. We can see within our system that our service team has clarified this previously however if you require further information as to how you can use your membership to its full potential, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Thank you Travel Smart for confirming that I can indeed cancel anytime but would loose my past investment. Can you then ask your collection or accounts receiving team to STOP harassing me with emails claiming that I have an outstanding balance with you and threaten to pass my details to collection agencies?

Good Morning Eugenie, We would very much appreciate it if you could reach out to us directly at socialmedia@travelsmartvip.com so we can discuss why you have once again repeated this same comment posted from August. As per our records, your original complaint with us was registered on August 24th, your contract was cancelled, as per your request, on August 31st and no further contact has been made by our team since that date.

TravelSmart, As per your suggestion, I have sent an email to your mentioned address. Your claim of no further contact has been made by your team since Aug 31 is not true.

My daughter received an email from your Jose Luis informing her that he has passed the account to a collection agency due to delinquent payments. We dont understand how your company can conduct business with no integrity at all. Just trying to shut us up on social media by showing everyone that you are honoring the contract. But behind the scene, still have your team harassing us on a non existent outstanding account.

We have rightfully terminated the contact in 2019 which TravelSmart REFUSED to honor. And now you are putting our credit at risk for your unethical behavior. I demand that you stop this bullying and withdraw our file from the collection agency.

I am still posting this on PissedConsumer so that others can be aware of the unethical things you do. Eugenie

As per yr suggestion I have sent an email to your mentioned email. Your claim of no further contact from your team is NOT true.

We have received an email on Oct 25 from your Jose Luis informing us that our account has been passed to Collection Agency due to delinquent payments. I am still posting on this website is for the public to be weary of TravelSmart unethical behavior.

You have yrself said u stopped your team from contacting us further, but as per Jose Luis from your company, we are not responding to him! Eugenie
