Calceus - Product and returns

Ordered pair of sandals...arrived wrapped just in bubble wrap and mailing envelope...looked like they had been worn...and then was told I had to return them to CHINA for refund...nothing is said on their website about having to return to China!! My opinion, they are very deceiving on their website. Obviously, would not pay to return to China - threw them in trash!!

User's recommendation: Would not EVER order from them again!

Hertz - Overcharge / wouldn't refund - pathetic company

On a Hertz rental for a Nissan Versa (compact car), I was charged $409.50 (which with taxes, etc. for 7 days - 58.50 day) . Their normal rate for compact is approx. 27.00 day! The full size vehicles were only listed on their website at 45.80!! Yet they charged me 58.50 day !! Having to rent their vehicle was the result of our auto being in an accident whereby we were hit by a driver with USAA insurance. We paid the 409.50 on our American Express and then sent the bill to USAA for reimbursement. The person with USAA called me and said they felt that price was too high so they put me on a call with them and Hertz. A gentleman named John with Hertz reviewed the invoice while all three of us were on the phone. He told the USAA person to pay us $165.14 (as that was the amount we should have been charged by Hertz and NOT the $409.50) and Hertz would credit our American Express card for the difference we had paid - $244.16. I kept checking with Hertz regarding the credit ...then we received a credit on American Express for $109.80 ?! I spent hours, which turned into several months, of phone calls and emails with Hertz customer service and supervisors trying to get this issue settled. No one from Hertz, supervisors included, could explain how they came up with the 109.80 credit. They just kept saying the 'published rate for the vehicle I had rented was $53.80 day ! FOR A COMPACT NISSAN VERSA??!! That is an UNTRUE statement !!! We have rented the Nissan Versa from this same Hertz airport rental for over two years and the rate was ALWAYS and STILL is around the 27.00 - 29.00 per day rate !! Finally I was told by customer service/supervisors included - that it was "A done deal" and they did not want to talk to me any further and would not take my calls regarding this issue. They would not even back up their own employee "John" who told us we would receive the credit!!! When I asked about this, I was told "John" did not have the authority to give us that credit of which he spoke on the phone with myself and the representative from USAA. MAYBE THEY SHOULD TELL 'JOHN' THAT HE HAS NO AUTHORITY !!!!! I called USAA to get a copy of their phone log whereby we had the three way phone call - with Hertz and was told by John that Hertz would credit us the $244.36. USAA responded in kind and verified what that phone call entailed, being exactly as I have stated above. The USAA representative on this call said he felt like we had been through enough so as a courtesy, USAA would send us a check for the difference of $134.56 (WHICH OF COURSE HERTZ SHOULD HAVE PAID)!! We received the check just a few days later. What an upstanding company, USAA, as they would not have needed to do that !! UNLIKE HERTZ, WHICH IN MY OPINION, IS A ' CHICKEN S....' COMPANY !! THEY WON'T EVEN HONOR WHAT THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES TELL YOU !!! Obviously, I will NEVER again rent from Hertz!!! In my opinion, they deserve to be in bankruptcy!

Phoenix Collision - Terrible repair job...

A pickup backed into the front of our Mercedes doing major damage to hood, grille, etc. We replaced the grille, bumper and small parts around headlights. The hood needed to be straightened and repainted. The bumper was to be repainted as well as a small part around the headlight. Two different times, in person, I repeated to Phoenix Collision exactly what was to be repainted. Phoenix Collision in Abilene gave us estimate and told us they could repair the hood, as well as paint the bumper and the headlight trim. After weeks of back and forth phone calls, we were told the hood could not be straightened and they had to get a used replacement hood. Finally, after more than two weeks (which we were told it would be 5 days) we received a call to pick up vehicle. After we got home, we raised the hood to check oil, etc...only to find they DIDN'T EVEN PAINT THE INSIDE OF THE HOOD, NOR DID THEY PAINT THE PART AROUND THE HEADLIGHT !! The car is silver and the inside of the hood is white and the headlight trim was still black instead of being painted silver like they were asked to do !!! What a PATHETIC BUSINESS!!! About a week or so later, highway tar from the road had gotten on the bumper and down toward bottom of door...The liquid cleaner I used on the vehicle took off the tar by bottom of door....and never phased the paint...when I put the cleaner on the bumper, which Phoenix Collision had painted, for the small spot of tar removal, ..it took the paint off !! Obviously, I would never use them again!!!!

User's recommendation: Not to use this auto body repair shop.

Citizens Bank - I wouldn't EVER use this bank !!!

Citizens Bank is on the corner of Treadaway and Industrial Blvd. in Abilene, Tx. I work in the building across the street so went over to the ATM and got $20.00 - for which they charge $3.00. I then went inside their bank to break down the $20.00 into smaller denominations for a vending machine in my building. I was told they could not do that unless I had an account there !!!! HMMMM.... they didn't have a problem taking my $3.00 fee - but could not change the $20 bill !!!! I went back across the street to First National Bank of Albany, which is in my building, and had no problem breaking down the $20.00 - and I don't have an account there!!! The only reason I didn't go to First National in the beginning, their ATM was not working at that short time. Obviously, I think CITIZENS BANK IS A JOKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronnie Smith Transmission - Never use this business again - pathetic business practices !!

I took a 1990 Plymouth Grand Voyager Van to Ronnie Smith Transmission for transmission service on 6-21-2018. I was sitting in the waiting room and one of their employees called me back to the shop as I had asked them to see if they could check the transmission motor mount to see if it needed replaced. They had driven the van from out front of shop to the middle of the shop area and had the hood up and was telling me oh, yes all the motor mounts, including the front and right front as well as the transmission mount needs replacing, and how they could do all of them that day along with the transmission service for of course an exuberant amount! Funny thing, I guess they thought I just fell off the turnip truck as we had just replaced the front and right front motor mounts!!! And, I told them so and had to get firm with them to get them to shut up about replacing the mounts and just do the transmission service. I went back to the waiting room and they pulled the van over to where they were going to do the transmission service.....it seemed about 45 minutes had passed and the guy in the front office got a text from the shop and he asked me if I had ever had any trouble starting my van. I said no of course not, why, and he said oh they can't start it. I went to the shop area and OMG, they had everything all torn apart on the steering column and pieces laying on the floor board! The guy said oh, I think I can fix it...I think something broke off up in the steering column....I immediately figured that whomever drove it to that spot just got out and flipped the steering wheel tilt lever and let it fly...rather than hanging on to the steering wheel and lifting the lever and tilting it up properly. The steering wheel was tilted up as high as it would go and it was not like that when I parked it out front. I asked him who drove it over to that spot....oh, he didn't know....I asked everyone in the shop....all of 4-5 people....GEE no one knew who drove it over there....I told them there must have been an invisible person there. They were like a bunch of first graders who were afraid to admit who had driven it over to that spot as now it wouldn't start!!! The owner finally came out and said well his guy couldn't really fix it and he didn't think his 'people' did anything wrong....that it was just old and that it just happened to break while it was in their shop!! REALLY !!! I said it was fine before you drove it over the spot for the transmission service! What a chicken *** businessman, in my opinion. I asked why on earth they would just tear it apart without even consulting me in the first place....well he didn't know...of course was looking down at the floor, in my opinion, looking guilty as sin !!! This was Thursday morning....the guy who had torn it all apart said , well he could get it started by crossing wires or something and would take it to whatever shop I wanted. i said I guess I don't have a choice in the matter since you all messed it up and now won't fix it. So, I told him where to take it and he said it would take it right away. Late Friday afternoon they finally took it to the repair shop...guess they must have been just EXTREMELY busy since it took them a day and a half to get it over to the repair shop.... all of maybe a mile or two.... what a joke !! The repair shop was amazed at all the pieces they just left laying on the floor board. It cost me $350.41 to fix what, in my opinion, they broke !! About 10 days passed before we got the van back from the repair shop. We drove it home....45 miles...and the next morning my husband was going on a trip so he checked all the fluids....the transmission was '2 Quarts low on fluid' !!! They charged us for 8.5 quarts of fluid for the transmission service. The shop owner who fixed it showed no leaks of transmission fluid on his shop floor nor was there any leaks on the cement drive under our carport after we had driven it home and it set overnight.!! So, In my opinion, the transmission service was not even done properly since it was still 2 qts. low on fluid !! Yet, I was charged $181.71 for the service!! OBVIOUSLY, I WOULD NEVER USE THIS BUSINESS EVER AGAIN !!!!!!

Vernon And Fletcher Automotive Repair - Failed to release clamps on cv boots after alignment - left them all twisted

We took a Plymouth Voyager Van to Vernon and Fletcher for an alignment on 8-2-18. When my husband got home with the van, he put it up on the jack stands to check underneath the vehicle...and to find the cv boots on both sides were all twisted like in a ball !! They had failed to release the boot clamps !! I called them and spoke with the gentleman who did the alignment. His answer ...".well I had to adjust that 'thing' eight times....so yeah, I guess I just forgot to release those clamps and straighten the boots." He said "oh, just come back by and I will fix that" ......I told him no thanks my husband had already fixed it ! Had my husband not looked under the vehicle, eventually those boots would have split/crack from being twisted and then start leaking fluid....and as I understand it then would have ruined the rack and pinion....which we had just installed new about a month prior. In our opinion, it was total negligence on the part of Vernon and Fletcher. Obviously, we will never use them again for any type of auto repair !! Karen Roedig
