Home Decorators Collection - Poorly designed 44" Palm cove fan

What a stupid design. Engineers missed it on this one (as they do most things engineered by humans): Screws are non-ferous, so even the strongest magnetic screwdrivers don't help. You will need to glue each of three screws with "Goop" glue to the screwdriver when attaching the fan motor to the ceiling-mounted housing - in this step one hand is holding the entire motor, the other a screwdriver (you don't have a third one, and if you did, fingers aren't long enough to hold each screw between a three inch wide recessed opening to the screw holes!) Proving the *** who designed the fan never attempted to mount it before manufacturing it! Why the screws aren't made of steel, and only pot metal??? Who was the CEO or efficiency expert that said they could save a penny per unit on this design? I have been designing products, evaluating them as a consumer advocate for only 40 years, and have an IQ of 160 and an amazing mechanical design score. I probably don't know what I'm talking about....NOT! Don't waste your money on this Chinese-made POS. Buy a German fan and convert the windings to 117VAC 60Hz.

ABYSMAL INCOMPETENCY AT UNION BANK CARD SERVICES

Epitome of incompetency and abysmal follow-up. Only one card was ever sent out for a joint account (usually that means more than one person on the account!). I requested the other card in the other name. Five months passed without one ever being mailed. I went into a Union Bank branch (in Big Bear, Ca) and requested this card. Union Bank mailed a duplicate card with the same name as the one and only we had *** I then went into the home branch in Carlsbad and requested this a second time in the correct name. Five weeks passed, no card mailed. I went in again, complained and requested this once again, in the correct name to a representative and the branch manager, Kenny Reykes. I was told one would be Fedex'ed the next day, or Friday. Friday and Saturday came and went without delivery. Six months to try to get the second account holder card without any help or follow-up after numerous requests, and one incorrect card mailed. Abysmal. This bank also is not accredited or participate in ConsumerAffairs accreditation - read the abysmal reviews there.

Patriot Bear Heating And Air - Patriot Bear Heating & AC Big Bear, Ca Incompetence

Furnace has not worked to come on to heat, or blow heated air into rooms through ducts for one week: If thermostat is set to 80, it does not come on. Thermostat still tells me that room is at 41 degrees F. Obviously, the controller board on the furnace does not work. The so-called repairman that finally came (after blowing me off twice) left it like this, and could not trouble-shoot the problem, leaving my home between 41 and 49 for that week. That person and business is: Patriot Bear Heating & Air Chase Gardner (909) 261-**** P.O. Box 4383, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 PatriotBear32@***.com CA Lic. #918348

DrainHelp.com Ripoff

Paid $1200 for *** dug to see the clay sewer pipe connection to city iron connector was leaking. But camera showed problem was 6 feet from hole. For $600 they hydrojetted the 60 foot length, and said it was warranted for 6 months. Jammed up only three months later...called to have warranty honored. Ali stated it would be another $279 for service call. As a global Consumer Advocate who posts problems like this with products and services; launches FTC and other international investigations (including suits), you can bet I am going to do more than Yelp about this. This is called a RIPOFF. Just check my ten consumer websites read by 310,000,000 readers.

Flojos Sandals blacken feet, company ignores complaint

Flojos Sandals blacken feet, company ignores complaint
Bought a pair of these awful black Drew or Cole model sandals at Costco. Transferred a black stain that lasted for weeks, despite repeated attempts to scrub feet with abrasives, chemicals, even bleach! Scrubbing sandals did not improve this flaw. Brown model does not do this. Complained to Flojos in Thousand Oaks. Owner too busy on trade show trips to follow-up with me. Secretary emailed me twice, then forgot about me, never addressing the problem. As a consumer advocate, I find this product poorly made, and possibly even a health hazard. Flojos ignoring a complaint like this is unacceptable, shows poor business conduct, and is unethical.

Costco employee empties my cart...left for two minutes!

My shopping cart was emptied by an employee named Kelli, while shopping at Costco 5/22/2017, 8:10 pm at your warehouse located at 951 Palomar Airport Rd Carlsbad, CA 92011. At 8:08 pm, I parked my cart (full of fresh meats, chicken, vegetables, liquor, and jar items, to walk a round trip to retrieve two loaves of bread (a minute and half trip). When I returned at 8:10 pm, my cart was nowhere to be found! I went up and down 5 aisles, only to find an employee named Kelli pushing it (now empty, except for the peanut butter jars in the exact location I placed them in the cart) back to where she stole it, to restock that. Caught red-handed, I questioned her, and she admitted taking it from that aisle. I stated how upsetting it was, that I could not possibly restock all the items in time to check out now. But I did let her know that as a prominent Consumer Advocate, I was the last person to do that to, and that this event will be posted on all my sites (with only 310, 000, 000 readers in four languages worldwide), as well as a complaint to Costco corporate in Kirkland, Wa. Her reply was: "Oh, do you not like Costco?" Was this some feeble-minded manager's idea to shave some time off the clock by restocking items from carts ASSUMED to be abandoned, BEFORE their patrons are out of the store? Wait until their owner Jim Senegal and CEO W. Craig Jelinek finds out about this ***-poor customer service. I should have made her manager restock every item in my cart and bring it to the front to ring my out. What a lack of common sense, and poor policy of treating people like sheep. I would have had plenty of time to gather my last two things and check out by 8:15 pm, but I walked out. I will have to make a second trip (this time to a different warehouse tomorrow to gather everything again. This time, I will be using a bicycle cable lock to lock my cart to the many metal vertical posts on your commercial warehouse shelving, should I need to walk more than 9 feet from it. This is (no doubt) some penny-shaving scheme some $12/hour manager has come up with (maybe even a valuable $18/hour executive) to close up the doors sooner after the last customer exits at 8:30 pm. My cart wasn't parked there longer than a minute before that air-headed employee snagged it and re-shelved everything at turbo speed. I expect this issue to be addressed in a reasonable amount of time by Costco. I also expect proper customer service recovery measures to me, as well as addressing this practice by employees there, to be implemented by Costco corporate, it's CEO and it's owner. J. Wood, GCA Global Consumer Advocates, LLC Carlsbad, Ca

What a hilarious tale! So you mean to tell me that "in less than a minute" a Costco employee restocked all but two items in your very full shopping cart??

That's extremely impressive and efficient - if that employee is reading this, please contact me as I would love to offer you a job with my company!!

And you are a "prominent consumer advocate" ...

Haha!!! Right!

Sounds like you really needed those tampons, Jack Wood.

C U Next Tuesday, for real.

#1331686

If that Costco employee was able to unload your cart and restock all the items in 1 1/2 minutes, she is wasting her super human talents working at a Costco!

#1331662

There is no way the employee was able to unload your "full" cart and restock the items, in the time frame you gave (90 seconds). Your complaint is fake or you are just disturbed.

Also, you are not empowered to "make" the store manager (or any employee) do anything. I think most peoples' reactions to your complaint will be the same as mine: disbelief and then a chuckle.

Snark Tuners - Fatal Design Flaw

Snark Tuners - Fatal Design Flaw
Fatal Design Flaw at ball joint. Two ball joints connect the clip to the tuner head via a curved armature (see photo below). These plastic joint prongs inner dimension are such that they provide constant pressure to grip the armature ball. Because of this; normal use over a short time; and poor plastic material, they break. There is no way to repair this critical joint by conventional glues or other creative means. Without this connection, the tuner no longer clips to the instrument, defeating the original intention for use. The only other option is to replace it at original cost. A poor option, and likely by intentional designed obsolescence.

I should have checked this product review before I bought my new Snark Tuner. A prong on the back of the device seemed to disintegrate in front of my eyes, the second time I used it and during a performance; leaving me with two unusable pieces.

It is a good design, but the type and quality of the plastic is clearly inadequate for the ball joint. This negates all the other great features of this tuner.

I wonder if anyone has received any repair, replacement or service from Snark?

Major Costco Pizza and Drink Confusion at Costco, Vista, Ca 1/9/2016

Stood in the divided-lane line for ten minutes to place, and pay for a combination pizza and get a chocolate and vanilla swirl ("with a squirt of chocolate syrup on the side") and wait another 20 minutes for a name that was never called at the Costco located at: 1755 Hacienda Dr Vista, CA 92081-****....Read on!.... First, I was told that "they cannot put chocolate syrup on the side except for Latte Mocha Freezes" by a counter clerk named Kennedy G. I told her I've ordered these this way since when Costco was Price Club, at over 30 locations since 1986. She stood her ground. Obviously, it was worth saving .03 cents of chocolate syrup to have this posted on my ten consumer websites (I'm a global consumer advocate) read by about 310,000,000 (that's right, 310m) readers. I was a delivered a half-filled cup of chocolate and vanilla yogurt by another confused person. Very inconsistent training and service. Here's the best part: I waited about 25 minutes for my pizza and then checked on it. presenting the receipt at the window, when I didn't hear any names being called. Another [just as confused] person asked if this was a call in order, and I said "no, I just paid here for it, here is the receipt (again). I asked him what the number was and he pointed just above the door, where it was posted. I stated this is the first time in 30 years I ever had to pay for a pizza, and then call it in. He said no, you can just tell me and we will make it up, looking at the receipt. I then asked "Isn't that what should have been done while I was waiting after paying at the window?" He then directed me to the number again, meaning another 20 minutes waiting for a pizza, hoping your name is called. I went to the customer service to get a refund. I told them that obviously they need some management in the food service area. They told me there was a manager in there. I said that doesn't mean - and doesn't appear it's being managed. I also complained that refusing a customer a squirt of chocolate syrup that he has gotten for 30 years at 30 different Costco's (probably over 2000 orders) will affect their customer service far more than the .03 cents some manager has saved their company. This will be posted on all ten of my websites, as well as to their CEO, and all the investors private emails (which is easy for me to find). Conclusion: Don't order any food here. They obviously don't know what they are doing. Costco 1755 Hacienda Dr Vista, CA 92081-**** * (760) 631-**** (Pizza call-in number)

Chaney Instrument - AccuRite Weather Station Failure requiring constant reset

Failure of sensor or communication circuitry causing displayed temp and humidity to flash, requiring constant reset following any profound changes in humidity or temperature (which is everywhere now). Requires frequent removal of Receiver / display module, removal of battery compartment door and resetting circuit for more than two seconds using appropriate size pin; replacement of module on mounting bracket on wall. Unacceptable performance of this company product. New batteries in transmitter and receiver modules. Connections, switches and circuits clean, and intact. No exposure to transmitter to rain or other direct weather conditions. Transmitter located outside within 6 feet to indoor receiver module, in a wood structure with strong EMF / RF transmission transparency qualities. Both modules sinced on same A-B-C selector setting. No other EMF or RF interference, determined using standard frequency scanner equipment. As a Consumer Advocate who posts global products for consumer information, this product fails performance standards. Products appear to be currently sold through retailers like Walmart and Costco. Do not recommend purchase of these products.

We are having the same problem. On our 3rd filter in as many weeks!

They start to sour, giving a little lemony taste at first them very sour shortly after. You spend that kind of money on a product and new filters, now the 3rd of 4 (waiting for the 4th to fail now).

Very disappointing. Used them for years and these Saar recent purchases of 2 new pitchers and now 4 filters.
