Safelite Autoglass - Customer Service, Dependability, Truthfullness in Business practice fall short

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First windshield was not an OEM product which was authorized by my insurance company

Second windshield was broke.

Call to complain manager unavailable and no assistant only a tech/who is acting manager, who had no real clue how to deal with a customer.

Another tech said he was calling to see if they could get a windshield quicker. Didn't call at all, they used the computer to simply check availability.

Then I called the Safelite 88-238-****...

This number simply looks at your phone number and routes you back to the Safelite store attached to your account/existing order. So when I talked to someone complaining about the store... they were at the store, because of the rudeness and condescending manner with this person I asked to speak to her manager. She put me through to her manager and guess who it was...

The Acting Manager who I had spoke with earlier. (so now I am complaining about the store at the store I was complaining about).

Then I finally get in touch with someone away from that Safelite Store at Corporate and they are going to try and have the District Manager call me to see what can be done. This is after almost 2 1/2 hours dealing with the issue.

Now its just all too frustrating and I will have to wait another week to get a windshield.

I will be honest I have dealt with SafeLite previously for windshield issues and never had this depth of problems. One windshield on this vehicle they did bring out a non OEM windshield, which leaked and they could not get the camera to calibrate, so they had to bring out the OEM windshield and I was happy with their work.

Another windshield they fixed and it is still in my vehicle and is great.

(Two completely different locations) One in New Orleans and One in Orange Country California. So I just don't understand.

Cons:
  • Product not supplied
  • Added poor info
  • No show

Preferred solution: The corporate offices say they are working on it. There summer vacation at the coast has been ruined. It would be the first vacation I was taking with them alone since covid and their grandfather's death. . Sad.

User's recommendation: Make certain your insurance company authorizes and OEM windshield for your vehicle and make certain that if you use a rental while you are waiting you have enough coverage to cover it. Had I gotten a rental to begin with I would be out of coverage by now and as I have to pay 20% of the costs... It would be a couple hundred dollars.
